Forging Ahead Friday --

Good Morning! It's the end of another work week, payday for some, so everyone should be feeling pretty good about the day (unless you work on Sat.). We love to hear what you and your families are up to, so fill us in on your daily scoop.

No rain here this morning yet, but I'm sure it will be moving in. Today is my day of the week to work at Republican Headquarters, so I'll be there most of the day. I got an email during the night that I'm needed to hand out brochures and signs at a senatorial candidate forum for the Navy League at the Radisson Hotel at 5. Looks as though it's going to be another long day, but at least it's doing stuff I enjoy.

Rob is going to a friend's house after school, then having the friend come over and spend the night. Looks like it'll be pizza for dinner again.

Hope everyone has a wonderful, not too soggy day.

Rhonda

Good morning!Man, I am in such a friday funk!!!The weather keeps making me change my plans. So far no real rain for us.Now they are saying rain tomorrow, we'll see.I finally got the cookies made and ate way too many of them.I'll have to get a good workout in today to make up for that.

One of the woman who works for the poultry company is leaving today. She has worked with the company 18 years but says she just has had enough.Has no idea what she is going to do.Have to admire her for making a change.

Yesterday I got on the computer and read some archives of the board. That was so much fun. Especially reading some of the winter post. Also alot of fun to read the posts where we would check on each other, ask for ideas, support, whatever. What a great group.

Ok, I'm off to the land of birds and then to see what I can make happen today.

By the way anyone nervous about Friday 13th?????

Good Morning,

I didn't even think about it being Friday the 13th! No superstition in me. It is indeed Friday and payday for me. The weather is gray and gloomy with very threatening skies-but then again that's how yesterday started and by day's end the sun was shining. It is supposed to rain all weekend but I've heard about 9 different versions of the weather forecast so I've given up. Feeling rather groggy again this morning-really just think it's the humidity and the gloomy skies.

No workout on the agenda today. After work it's the mad dash to the grocery store to restock. So as one can see nothing new and exciting around here!

Hope you're able to forge your way through Friday with good things!

Hey Rhonda - TGIF here! I sure hope Charley stays out of your way. I have a friend in Brooksville, and she seemed rather nonchalant about the whole thing when I asked her last night if she was battening down the hatches...

DS started work this morning, at one of his two part time jobs - the other one he isn't on the schedule yet. He's doing maintenance at the local shopping center, so I can just see him working outside fishing some kid's mess out of one of the fountains in the hot sun...(he is one of those nite-time people who shuns the sun). Just the thought of it warms the cockles of my heart (whatever those are).

I haven't had time to get online for two days now, with the conference going on, and really have to get back to work now - have to place some special ed and art orders for equipment for our schools, and then time to replenish the mini-muffins and cookies back in the conference center break room (AKA The Internet Cafe).

BTW - I stepped on the scale this morning and have gained five pounds in the past two weeks just from that stress-eating at night - I have to stop, but I think I'm close to a meltdown of nuclear proportions, and the long days at work aren't helping, except to just keep me busy and tired.

We've gotten over 2" of rain since yesterday afternoon - including 1-1/2" in 20 minutes during one downpour. Some said a tornado touched down in a nearby township, but that's not been confirmed - I think people see dark swift clouds and lots of wind and conclude it's a tornado when it's not. There were some trees blown down, but not the pattern of damage that accompanies tornados.

Getting ready to head to MIL's for the weekend after picking up Allison from school (Cus is taking half-a-day off). It'll be rainy, but I'm sure just as relaxing. So packing today, along with a bit o' ironing and cleaning the bathrooms. I hate coming home to a messy house. I might go for a run here shortly in the drizzle that we have. With the rain in NC too, I won't be running there. That'll occupy my day!

Rhonda, you're not in the evacuation zone? For some reason, I thought you were, and so I was relieved to see you posting this morning!

Not too soggy here yet unless you consider high humidity soggy. Ugh...had to give in and put the central AC on.

Bonnie is to hit with a lot of rain this afternoon and Charley is coming Saturday evening. Does not look like a promising weekend. I caught up on all the laundry so we won't lose electic power. If I let it pile up and get smellier, we would definitely lose it.

Haven't heard from step mom. I know she was evacuated and she would call when they got the all clear. I hope it isn't too bad in Venice Fl. Have to all DS in Moyock NC to see how he is doing.

Taught the body sculpting class today and by passed the elliptical machine again. Blisters are starting to do better and I want to keep it that way since I want to wear something nice to the wedding I am going to tomorrow.

Glad you are enjoying your work with the Republican Club Rhonda. Keeping you busy with the storms on the way. Enjoy your pizza evening.

Have a good day all....

Friday the 13th doesn't bother me at all. 13 is my lucky number actually. Also, it is DS and DinL's wedding anniversary...I think it is their 10th too!! Wow..time goes too quickly!!!

You figured out why I won't bake cookies. There is no way I could bake and not eat it. So...I just don't do it. It is bad enough I eat everything I cook except meatloaf. Make it often too for the men.

I guess there is one thing you can count on here...the board always being so supportive and there for each and everyone of us. Some things don't change...thank goodness.

Have a great day.

I'd like to be forging ahead, but right now it's more like slogging. I feel like the day is never going to end. Which is probably not a bad thing when you've got a ton of work to do for Monday. I think AF is messing with my head; she's signaling a visit next week, and I hope I'm signaling my intent to be inhospitable clearly enough for her to get the message before she drops all her baggage in my living room.

There's a workout in the plan for early this evening. Another full one, I hope, like Wednesday's; that oughtta show AF who's boss.

It's two minutes into the ice cream "tenant appreciation day" party and I haven't given in ....Have a good day, everyone!
