Hi everybody! I'm working at headquarters, but just popperd in to see what's happening and to let you know what's going on in "Charley Country." We've gotten some rain today, but not from the hurricane. That's going to start this evening.
The gov. has declared a state of emergency and about 2 million people have been ordered to evacuate in SW and central FL. It's going to come ashore a little further north of Tampa than they'd thought, so it should be a direct hit around the Ft. Myers area. It's up to a Class 4 with wind gusts up to 145 mph.
We'll start feeling some more effects between 7 - 8 with the worst of it hitting around 4 in the morning. We're hoping we won't have winds over maybe 80 miles an hr. here, but trees and power lines will still come down in that kind of wind,
