~~Happy Hump Day~~

Good morning everyone! We're about halfway thru the week and alittle more than halfway thru the month. Can you believe it?I bet some of you guys have already started on your Christmas shopping.

I loved Sassy's post yesterday where she said she had really been working out and loving it.But yesterday she had to let the workout go to get other things done.I think that is so important with exercise, to reach the right balance. Some days I have to make myself exercise and some days I have to push myself alittle further than I might want to go.And some days I have to realize that I need a day off or that I just simply don't have the time that day to get it done without feeling overwhelmed.Having said that though,I think my workouts are so good for me and I usually make sure my days have the time to include them.I've found that as I get older( so to speak) I've learned to put myself up higher on the list of important things to take care of.I think for all women finding what works for you and how to fit it into your life is so important.

Donna, hope you enjoy the resturant tonight.Looking forward to hearing about it.Nancy, are you enjoying the new workout you're doing?Hope so.And to each of you, every day I come to the board and read something that touches me, teaches me or stays with me in some way.I talk about you all so often that my family thinks I have imaginary friends!!!Just want to say thanks and tell you all how much you add to my life.

Have a wonderful day!

Miss P

Good morning!

Patty, it's all about balance. And the balancing act includes taking care of ourselves, not just family, home, work, and chickens, and knowing when to retreat to the hammock with iced tea and a good book (or a beach novel!). It's not selfish; it's crucial so we can function well in all aspects of our lives.

Lori, I'm gonna see if my doctor will prescribe sour apple candies for me - I just have to come up with an appropriate ailment! Hope you're better in a hurry.

Nancy, have a safe trip in the semi.

Phyllis - Appendages crossed for your plans for a getaway with Johnny to work out. Oh, yes, a few little prayers, too!

Today is a catch-up day - catch up with all the other things that are simmering around me while the initial review of the latest big proposal is under way. Tonight is supposed to be my off night from working out, but if we get seated early and dinner sits lightly in my tummy, I'll do some cardio and LB work later in the evening. If not, hmmm, guess I'll pay the bills I didn't pay last night - no due dates threatening, I just can't stand the paper on the dining room table.

Have a healthy, productive, and blessed day!

Donna

Ended up skipping body sculpting, doing weights at home on my own last night, and meeting a friend for dinner.

You're right about balance. I think part of it, too, is NOT letting it get you down when you have to set fitness aside for a day or two. Sometimes a week, as I've found. You can always get back into it, and it makes it just that much more fun when you do.

I just got back from a 4.1 mile run which included Big Hill. I went for a steady pace today to make it the Hill, not time, so I ran slower (44+ minutes). I'll be doing abs work in a few minutes here. Got one of the 3 painters coming by before noon to give us his estimate on the house. After that... I think I might start seriously plotting repainting/redecorating the dining room.

Patty, one sure way to prove to your family that we exist is for you and Sassy to come to Asheville and get pictures with all of us! That would convince them. Hint! Hint! If you've already canceled your room, I know Donna and I are more than willing to share ours, and I'm sure others would be willing too. That could cut expenses a lot. Don't make me beg... ;-)

Your post this morning really did make me think, for a change, about what I should be doing and making more of an effort to do it.

Yesterday, I cut seed pods that I could reach off the 5 crape myrtle trees and trimmed some shrubs. I'm finally starting to see some butterflies and bumblebees. I've seen very few this summer, but I don't know why. I don't have as many red flowers as usual, but I still have a lot of things they're supposed to like. Got some grocery shopping done last night and let Rob drive while I put up signs for McCollum for U.S. Senate along a main road. Thought I was going to get hit by lightning and finally had to stop when the rain got too hard.

Today, I am going to mow. The sun is out at least for now, so I should be able to get it done.

Have a happy hump day!
