1. Do you watch any of the Olympics? If so, what's been your favorite part so far?

2. What's the worst kind of natural disaster that happens in your area?

3. Can you stand on your head?

4. How do you determine what side of the bed you sleep on?

5. If you were going to sign up for a continuing education course at a local school, what would you like to take?

I haven't watched as much as I'd hoped to.

1. Until last night, I've managed to catch the highlights of most events. The one I missed was the most amazing one so far - Paul Hamm's overall gold win after falling to 12th place. I like the swimming and gymnastics most, but track and field events (track relays, especially) are close behind.

2. Blizzard/Nor'easters.

3. Every day - at work . But not the real kind.

4. What's most comfortable for spooning!

5. Nothing related to technology, business, history, or government. Language, probably -Italian, or more English lit classes.

Thanks, Rhonda!

1. Do you watch any of the Olympics? If so, what's been your favorite part so far? Yes, sporadically. I'm enjoying the swimming, diving and women's gymnastics.

2. What's the worst kind of natural disaster that happens in your area? Tornados, though they are thankfully infrequent. More often we get damaging t-storms with lightening and wind.

3. Can you stand on your head? Never have been able to before... but I just did. So the answer is Yes!

4. How do you determine what side of the bed you sleep on? When facing the bed, I'm always on the right side. That started when we got married. The Cus is most likely the one to wake up and go to the bathroom at night, and in our first house, the bathroom door was on the left side of the bed! BTW, we once switched sides in a hotel room to get him closer to the bathroom door, and we ended up crashing into each other all night. It was a riot!

5. If you were going to sign up for a continuing education course at a local school, what would you like to take? Funny - I asked a similar question over on my Playgroup board today. I've done calligraphy in the past. I'd probably take something like upholstery or furniture refinishing, something that I'd rather have guidance on rather than teach myself.

I've only caught highlights here and there.

I took furn. refinishing about 30 years ago and redid a caned chair, a small drop-leaf table, and a poster bed. The table had belonged to my best friend's mother who died suddenly when my friend was only 14. It was very nondescript, what was referred as Early American back then, and the finish was pretty muddy. When I redid it, it turned out that the woodgrain was very pretty and the leaves were birdseye maple! I gave it back to her, so she'd have a nice remembrance of her mother. I really enjoyed the classes.

I used to teach that through the community school classes program. I had learned how to do it at the community college and did it with silk flowers
