Where'd Everybody Go Saturday?

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. I'd like to be inspirational like Patty, but ya know - the humidity has sapped my brain and body of all mental and physical energy (except for my candy-pain-killer idea, that's all there is).
I cannot believe the weather. I complained of bad humidity a week or so ago, but this caps it. I looked out the window moments ago and saw my neighbor wearing long jeans and a hoodie! She must have just come from the frozen food section of the store. I'm sitting here in an age-inappropriate sun dress and I'm ready for another shower.
So much for a workout today. I think I'll melt off a few pounds even if all I do is wander from room to room. I do need to do a quick errand, but then I'm heading back here to sit in the a/c and read American Soldier by Tommy Franks. How many calories do you burn turning pages? Or watching athletes at work at the Olympics?
Have a great day, everyone! Stay cool!
Donna

Hi, Donna...I was just going to post a Saturday Hello because I didn't see a Saturday post. Not typical for this board.
The humidity sounds aweful there. IT is aweful here too, but it is supposed to change tonight...one can only hope. I don't think there are age-inappropiate sun dresses when it is that hot and sticky. Stay in that AC and I do think you can lose weight watching the Olympics. At least I like to think so. I am going to pull my book out today too.
Didn't go anywhere that great today...just to Trader Joes to stock up on stuff that I can't get anywhere else. Unfortunately, I also bought some goodies...bad bad Gracie. There was no milk left here so I figured I would just go there and get it along with $50 worth of other stuff. I am a shopaholic!!!
Nothing else planned today. I didn't work out either...just not feeling up to it. I decided to color my hair instead...don't want to have surgery with (gray) roots.
Off to the store to buy some cough drops or something with euclyptus in it.
Take care...

Mary here in Northern California.
Just another shi**y day in Paradise here in Colorado Springs...lol.
Good afternoon! I went by Tim's office and then to the bank before heading to the beach. It was sunny, hot, and extremely crowded. Rob is at his friend's beach condo, so I was by myself. It was going to be a good day for shark teeth because I could see lots of shell beds exposed in the shallow water, but the tide was too high to look much. I was only half-heartedly looking and found 23. Spent most of the time watching 3 dolphins in fairly close to shore. Two stayed side-by-side, but one would come into the shore break. I left after about an hour-and-a-half. Went by Walmart, Barnes and Noble (which is out of Unfit to Command. They stopped counting after 65 people had already asked for it today.), and then did the bulk

Hi, Rhonda...I can just picture you walking along the beach looking for shark's teeth. After doing it myself in Venice, I know how calming and addictive it can be. Unfortunately, Venice is shark teeth out with the dredging that was done a little north of the beach. One of the things I have on my to do list before surgery is to go to an ocean beach. I don't know which one yet...it depends who is going with me. Probably won't be able to go into the water...the jelly fish are out. August is big with jelly fish here.
We just got a torrential downpour. One good thing is that cooler dryer air is going to follow. It is supposed to be beautiful weather Sunday and Monday.
I have been following the whole ad thing on Fox News. I am told by people that Fox is not fair and balanced but I do like to watch them the best. I got hooked after the attacks on 9/11. Actually, no one is fair and balanced as far as I am concerned. I just take the information and try to digest it and find out more about it. If you go to the rally, let me know about it.
Have a nice weekend.

Good afternoon, Mary. How is your baby blanket coming along? I crochet afghans but have never attempted to knit a baby blanket. I did try to knit scarves...at least I can get them done. I am bit slow with knitting. Is the one you are doing an easy pattern?
I believe anything that gets your heartrate up is cardio....LOL! Keep up the great work with the WW. I did notice even if I didn't respond to your post.
Take care of those knees. And yes, once the weight drops some more, your knees will fee better. Got to have you up and dancing!!

Oh, sure, rub it in Phyllis about your weather. It is ok....we are supposed to get nice weather Sunday and Monday. It is said that you can't really appreciate the good days unless you have some bad, so I am going to go with that.
Too bad you can't go out and enjoy the weather and you are busy cleaning and orgainizing. Sounds like enough exercise to me.
Happy orgainizing...

Yesterday I ran in upper 80 temps so today I was thinking a run in winter temps may not be so bad :)DH is home and has the air conditioner turned to FREEZING so it feels like winter here!!!!!
I caught a glimpse of the Olympic female rowers the other day.Not an ounce of fat on those bodies!!!
Hope everyone's day is going well.

My 'where'd everybody go Saturday' is probably more of a 'check in' for the evening post.
