Good morning everyone! We are suppose to have a beautiful day here! The weatherman, on one local channel, was so excited about it he wanted to know how everyone was going to spend it.They finally had to tell him they had to get back to the news. What kind of weather are they callin for in your area? And what plans do you have for today?

We're having a cookout that was cancelled last week.(someone whined about the cancellation, can you imagine!!!!)There is cheesecake involved so I'm hoping to get a run in before I go.I'm hoping at the cookout we draw names for the Christmas branpie.Ok, is that brandpie or branpie and why the heck is it called that????Anyone know?

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!If you don't have any plans come join us, I'll share the cheesecake :)

Good morning, everyone!

I take back all that whining I did about the humidity yesterday. Today is gorgeous!! Cool, dry, sunny, cloudless - it's about 63 now, just how I like it. I have no idea how we're going to spend it, but if DH doesn't wake up and get moving soon, I'm taking the car and stranding him at home. Too nice to sleep it away. I'm going to get blueberry pancakes - the low-carb kind - going on the griddle soon. Since the aroma of coffee hasn't moved him, maybe the smell of blueberries will. Canadian bacon, too.

We'll take a walk later, and I'll hit the weights afterward. Anyone have any good ideas for dinner? I'm thinking roasted turkey breast, sweet potatoes, and something green and leafy. Dessert? Heading to VA for some cheesecake.....

Have a lovely day, everyone!

Good afternoon! It's been a lazy kind of day around here. This morning it was beautiful, then it clouded up. We had a brief storm earlier this afternoon, so now it's just cloudy. I got some laundry done, cleaned out the litter boxes, did a little floor scrubbing, but not much before Tim decided to watch TV in the great room (Darn!!), read the paper, and have been on the computer. Tim did some patching on the roof around a skylight (again), and I just picked up Rob's from his friend's house.

The bright point of my day was talking to Lauren and Andie. Andie kept wanting to talk. She can say up to 7 word sentences & she just turned 2 on 7/21. She told me she had a popsicle already and was hollering to her mom from her playhouse that she wanted to talk to Rhonda again. She sang part of the Barney song and part of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to me. She always makes me laugh.

I'm fixing a honey mustard pork roast, mashed potatoes, salad, and cinnamon applesauce. I'm hungry!

I give up -- I don't know what a branpie/brandpie is either.

Hope your weekend is winding down well.

Rhonda

When we draw names for christmas gifts we call it a christmas branpie. What do you guys call it?My sister could tell me it was called a branpie, not brandpie, but she couldn't tell me why.I drew my Dads name who is the worst possible person to get.He always gives his gift back to the person who gave it to him or to someone else.He doesn't mean to be unappreciative he just doesn't want anyone spending money on him.I told him this year he was getting a leather coat, in a womans size 8!Actually I think I have the perfect gift in mind for him.I'm going to have my sisters, our DHs and kids all get together and have our pictue taken. One of all of us, one of just us girls and one of the 3 grandchildren. This was something I wanted to do for their anniversary this year but never got everyone together. So the joke, or one of them, today was "ok Patty's on this. Everyone plan for pictures to be taken Dec. 20!!".HaHa!!Funny people.

I can't find either word in the dictionary or on the internet. Wonder if it's of foreign origin. I never had a word for a gift exchange, so I learned something new today.

The picture idea is a great one!

The cookout was exhausting.I swear my family can go from fighting to laughing in seconds. We had cds playing and of course no one could agree on what to listen to.Things really got tense when the cherry pie filling landed on the floor.Even more so when during clean up it landed on my cute cropped pants and white shoes!!!!!LOL We usually leave swearing we'll never do another one but we always do.

So no one has heard of the term branpie before? So my family really is strange??????

Any "pie" that has "bran" in it can't be good!
