Good morning everyone!Can't believe it's monday....again!!!!

The things I do for my chickens!I had to chlorinate my well water for the birds but hate how it tastes. So I got one of those filter things to put on my faucet. What a difference! It takes the water longer to come out but makes it taste so much better.I was standing at the sink the other day filling up my glass and thinking I need to use a filter in my daily life.I need to have a filter that makes me more selective about the things I listen to and watch on tv.Sometimes I watch the news and just get so discouraged and find it hard to be positive.I need to have a filter when people say or do things that annoy me and make me quick to become angry. The filter would slow down my reaction and give me time to think or to just let it go.I need a filter when the voice inside my head says I don't want to work out or I want to undo the work I've done with a lousy diet. The longer I stood there the more things I could think of.Anyone else need to filter anything out?

So what's on your Monday schedule?Anything new in the workout dept? How's eating going?Hope everyone is feeling better today.Anyone tackling any 15 min or longer projects?

Hope your Monday starts your week off in a wonderful way!

Miss P

Filtering things in our lives - that's what I pray for when I ask for strength and patience and a more forgiving heart. I like how you put it!

Didn't do squat this weekend as far as workouts go. Yesterday was just plain lazy after church. Saturday I had a photography class at Ritz Camera that really got me excited about exploring more features on my camera. I'd read the instruction book and toyed with some of the things, but the lecture and visuals had more impact - now I'm going back through my notes and the instructions, and saying a lot of "Wows" and "Cools" out loud. I tell ya... getting to the class was an adventure. I'd looked up the address on a map program - and it turned out the map program was dead wrong! It should've taken me 25 minutes at the most to get there, and ended up taking an hour. The patience I often ask for I totally ran out of on Saturday after driving up and down the same route a few times before stopping at a pay phone to call and find out exactly where they were. I should know that screaming at traffic lights won't make them turn green any faster! Devil really had me during that brief time.

Today. I'm getting ready to go run. It's 72o right now, a bit humid, but certainly better running conditions than on Friday when I ran at 10am. (Temp 81, and rose to 86 in the 40 minutes that I ran - I ended up walking twice because of the heat.) Cleaning up the house a bit, visit a fabric store that closed early on Saturday. Maybe snap a few pictures. Of what I don't know, since my main subject is at Kindergarten!

Oh, Allison learned to Hula Hoop this weekend! I got her the hoop on Friday, and she could keep it up for 5 or so turns, not quite having the rhythm down. Saturday, she figured out the hip movement to keep it going and by yesterday she could hula hoop as long as she wanted to. I'm going to ask my parents to send me a tape of some of our home movies - I know there's one of me hooping at a riverfront park when I was Al's age. (I can still hula hoop, btw.)

Good morning, everyone!

Filters AND editors, Patty. We need both of them working in balance. The filter to keep the outside stuff from driving us crazy, making us feel guilty, telling us we're inept, and the editor to keep us from telling everyone else exactly what's on our minds in insensitive terms. My filter works reasonably well, but my editor goes AWOL more often than my filter. So, something's out of whack and needs attention. That's why I think we're all works in progress.

My workouts need attention, again. A little more oomph, a little more consistently. Eating is ok - I've got to stop falling back on takeout so often. I've got a good supply of food in the fridge and the weather is supposed to be cool and dry, so this will be a cooking week.

After the brutal humidity and terrible rainstorms Saturday, Sunday was gorgeous, so we took off southward and ended up by the waterfront in Plymouth, MA. I thought the town was an attraction for history buffs, but apparently it's also Biker Central, or at least yesterday was. I have never seen such a collection of bikes and personalities in one place that wasn't an official biker event. Pretty colorful characters, and a lot of fun. We walked all over the place, had dinner by the park, and headed home. I was able to get a little weight work in before turning in for the evening.

Today, a walk at lunchtime and more cardio and freeweights this evening. I have a reprieve this week before the you-know-what hits, so I can get out midday for a couple of days and make the need for a workout at night less pressing.

Have a great Monday, everyone!

Donna

Hi everyone,

We are finally back from holidays and settled in. Had a really fun time with the boys and got some good pictures until I broke the camera! Planning on making up some scrapbook pages.

Returned home to find that my youngest dd is in the hospital. She went in for an appointment with her specialist and he told her to check in at ER. Looks like she will be going in for another surgery. It's been 7 years since the last one, so I guess that was a pretty good stretch. If you could spare a prayer, I'd sure appreciate it.

It's so nice to be back home, surrounded by our own comforts. I'm planning on a healthy day of eating and a light workout this morning. Need to shed the extra couple of pounds I added over holidays.

I'm very excited. Today I'm signing up for a drawing class! I can't believe that I've put it off taking classes for so long. Really looking forward to it! Also, signing the boys up for swimming lessons which will put me in the same building with a full gym....hmmmm. Something to consider!

Saw a good sign in our travels, .....Motivation may wane, but habits persist!

Have a wonderful week ladies,

Shar

I've used Mapquest and Expedia for directions dozens of times and never had a problem UNTIL the last time I used one. The screwy directions made us 1/2 an hr. late for a concert!!

I remember when Hula Hoops came out. I loved mine. It's kind of a red letter day when kids learn a new skill like that. It's good for your middle too.

Did you see that the women Olympic marathoners were running in 95 degree heat and high humidity?? I don't know how they did it.
