I know it sounds rather strange, but the surgery is probably a good thing at this point. Jen has been having problems with this last flare-up for over a year now. A few weeks ago she had a round of Remacaid (sp?)which is an immuno suppressant, but makes her more prone to infections. She must have had a lesion in her intestine, that turned into a full-blown abscess after the treatment. They've dealt with that, but it will cause other problems, so the only real option is surgery. But, because they are getting to it relatively early before a lot of damage it should be a less invasive surgery.
She is in excellent spirits at the moment. In fact, looking forward to surgery so she can get a better quality of life back.
Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. Truly appreciated!
I'll add my prayers and positive thoughts, Shar! Poor baby! I really hope this heals her and that she doesn't suffer anymore bouts with this condition.

I sent a post earlier, but lost it. The board has also been really slow for me today.
I'm really sorry your daughter has to go through the surgery, but encouraged that it may be just the thing to improve her health and her quality of life.
My daughter had to go through major surgery on her bladder the day after her 3rd birthday. We were terrified, but she came through like a champ with only 1 infection shortly after surgery. After that, she's had maybe 1 or 2 infections in the 25 years since. I bring it up because, as scary as it was, the outcome was well worth it.
I'll keep you and your DD in my prayers. What is her name again? Sorry I have such a bad memory.
Hugs,
Rhonda
