How's the day going for everyone? I actually got an hour walk in around the neighborhood, which I haven't done in ages, so that's an improvement.

Hope everyone is accomplishing what they set out to do today.

That's a nice walk, Rhonda. You've given me an idea for while dinner's in the oven and DH is toiling on the tread and with the weights.

I had a pretty good day today! Easy at work (leaving me wondering a little what I forgot to do), a nice walk along the river (not as long as past riverwalks, but at least I was out there), and a nice healthy lunch - followed by half of a man-hole-cover-sized choc chip cookie, and preventing it from being an awesomely healthy day. I gave away the other half even before I bit into mine because it looked so moist and chocolately I knew I'd be in trouble if I kept it anywhere near my desk. Although I'm figuring I was still burning calories from the walk, so the net effect of the cookie was negligible. Anyone else buying that?

I'll be meeting DH near a Whole Foods market after work, so I'm going to pop in and see what's on the shelves and in the bins. I hope they have some interesting tomatoes that I can slice up with dinner tonight - a little olive oil, garlic, and chopped basil - delish!

I've had a good day. The yoga demonstration and class were WONDERFUL! I was surprised at how many poses I already knew through the tapes that I have but it's just a lot different in a class with an instructor. All types of people there from much older women to teenagers with all different ranges of flexibility, shapes and sizes. The most amazing thing was one of the instructors who proudly announced that he's 88 years old! You would never know it by looking at him! I'm definitely looking at the checkbook to see if I can squeeze out the money to register for once a week classes-just have to have my doctor cooperate and get me a medical clearance since they won't register anyone without one. Of course this is from the doctor that I'm still waiting for blood test results 2 weeks later-apparently I'm on a "list"! Anyway, I came home recharged both mentally and physically.

Delish is right, Donna! I love that combo you posted! I had a salad similar to that the other day at one of our Italian restaurants. It was wonderful! I have the worst time trying to ignore bread if it's anywhere near a good dipping oil concoction, also! I should have been born Italian as I have an affinity for the food.

What an exciting evening I have planned - NOT! Just got back from the new Walmart Supercenter within walking distance from my home. You know you're in an exciting town when the whole town shows up (I felt like telling some of them, "hey, go to your own Walmart!") for the grand opening. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were supposed to be there, but I didn't hear any kind of ruckus or see any heads turning, so they must have made their appearance early. There was a fish tank of bass outside the store which ds would have stared at for who knows how long, so I'm glad I didn't take him. I couldn't believe the huge red hat selection - I guess that society has taken hold of Texas! I must say I like this Walmart better than the Supercenter on the other side of town. A great food selection, although I would have much rather seen a Whole Foods store sitting in that location. You ladies with Whole Foods markets near you are so fortunate! Other exciting activities: my coworker let me borrow her "Ella Enchanted" to watch tonight after ds' Rangers game is over. 3 TV's in the house & he needs to watch the game on the one with dvd player attached. Made 2 batches of No Pudge brownies - ds and his dad will eat a whole pan & my coworker wanted to try some tomorrow.

Eating was so-so today. Workout was good. Tomorrow will be a rest day as yet another meeting. Gee wiz, a 3rd meeting is planned for Friday! I'm meetinged out! I work tomorrow night & maybe Friday night. Saturday, I have off and am getting my hair cut. Can't wait. I may run into Shreveport with a friend for some shopping. There's always cleaning, too. What a choice!

Oh, btw, Donna, congratulations on the NSV! Your black sleeveless top sounds so cute! I love those kinds of victories more than those from the scales, although you have done great in SV's and NSV's!

Katsonnet, just currious, what part of Texas are you in? I'm in Wichita Falls and have noticed the "Red Hat Club" is becoming a huge thing. Our local City Council even had the local chapter as a guest on one of the council meetings not to long ago. I have been considering joining also, I'm a pinker too but not for long (LOL). I just haven't made an attempt to find out who I need to talk to or what it takes to join.

Hope you enjoy the new Walmart. We have two super centers here, one on the northside of town and one on the southside of town. I actually shop at both and have found that the prices are sometimes different and that they don't always carry the same things.

I'm in E. Texas - Longview, which is about less than 1 hour away from Shreveport, LA (gambling boat capitol, I think!). Margie, another board member, is in Dallas. Maybe we could all 3 meet sometime in Dallas. I do have a difficult time getting time off from both jobs, but maybe someday I can meet you two ladies.

I pulled the Red Hat Society up on the internet, found 7 chapters in Longview, & called a chapter "Queen" that lives close to me. She was very gracious & friendly. They're having a tea in Sept. at 1 p.m. which is my lunch hour, so I will have to make it to that one. I doubt I will get to participate much as they go out of town frequently. They had a national convention in Dallas earlier this year and another convention is planned for Dec. in Orlando. It seems they have all kinds of fun with cruises and trips every year. Next year is Vegas. I'll have to find a pink hat for the tea. I don't have many friends out here & meeting ladies for lunch or tea is such fun! I tried to become a member of the Symphony Guild out here but their meetings are always at noon & I can't make them or the Symphonies as I'm always working on those nights. Also, most of the ladies on that guild are Longview socialites and I just didn't fit in. I'm sure I was the only single mom in the guild.

Wichita Falls has been the Cowboys training camp in the past, correct? I've not been out your way, but I'm sure I will someday.

Thanks for the info. Yes we had them here two years in a row. It was a big deal since Wichita Falls isn't really that big compared to Dallas, Austin, Houstin, etc. When I was in Walmart the other day I noticed they has some different colored hats, maybe they might have a pink one for you. JC Penny's also sells hats too. I think it would be pretty neat if the 3 of us could get together some time. I know what it's like to be a single parent. I've been divorced twice. Fortunately my kids are all grown now but they still keep me busy. I have 6 grandkids & one in heaven with 2 pregnant daughters. My current DH is a pretty great guy (for a man {LOL}).

Well it's bed time so I had better go.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the yoga demonstration and I hope you can squeeze out the cash to attend on a weekly basis.
