What kind of weather are you having today?Originally they called for a cooler weekend here but now it's been changed to really hot, near 90.Looks like summer is hanging on.

Hope everyone has a wonderful start to their weekend!

Good Morning,

Yup, I'm on vacation and the boss gave me a vacation check yesterday which was really really nice although he was teasing me all day that he gives me a 104 days off a year (Saturdays and Sundays) plus holidays-do I really need to take another week off?

Not sure what the weather is holding for us-I heard one forecast for rain another for just hot and humid. As of right now it is a bit warm and has turned humid again and I'm feeling incredibly lazy! Usually I'm out the door early for a Saturday walk but need to get Mr. Otto out the door early for his yearly physical and then much to his displeasure and my relief a day of beauty for him with a bath, ear cleaning and nail clipping. Being in the lazy mood that I'm in I'm not sure a workout is calling my name or more likely I'm just not listening. We'll see what the day brings on that one. I haven't done laundry all week so I know that disaster awaits me, dog hair boulders and science 101 from the refrigerator depths are more likely the agenda of the day. DH will be going to put in a ceiling fan for his mom and sister so most likely the house will be mine for a little while this morning-maybe at Patty's suggestion-my chair and thoughts of George sound more appealing!!!

Whatever your plans hope your day is a good one!

Morning Patti,

Going into my kitchen in a few minutes to start baking. Making a 2 tier cake for the shower, and I am a bit out of practice. Then heading over to the middle sisters to wrap the gifts, make a wishing well, and help clean her house. The shower is there. Home to clean my house, cook dinner and the bride to be might be coming over for dinner and some discussion about the rehursal dinner which is going to be at my house. Our dresses came in and I am going for a fitting Monday afternoon. I need to pick Katie's dress up this afternoon too, keeping my fingers crossed there. Have a great day everyone!

I've got nothing big planned today, so it looks like I'll be doing Body Sculpt and abs work. Shrimp in a garlic wine sauce tonight, with rice and the leftover lemon pepper veggies I made the other night. Tomorrow we go to the theme park for a Family Fun day.

I've gotten interested in making my own bread, biscuits and rolls. It was the lack of affordable whole wheat bread that got this interest going, and what was affordable wasn't whole wheat. Got the yeast packets, whole wheat flour and regular unbleached flour. At least making it myself I know what's going into it - whereas I have no idea what azodicarbonimide is, and what's ammonium sulfate doing in my bread? Also I can modify when I want, like with biscuits, too many refrigerated biscuits or biscuit mixes have more salt than I'd use. It takes practice, though! Yesterday I made regular biscuits. I think I over-kneaded them, and they turned out big, but a little flat - spreading rather than rising, sorta like our glutes, LOL! But they were tasty, less salty and filling than store bought stuff. I've made whole wheat rolls with a bit o' honey, and they turned out wonderfully. I've got a recipe for an "English Muffin Loaf" which intrigues me, and of course, I want to make whole wheat bread. I'm using my Kitchenaid Mixer and then letting it rise and baking it the old fashioned way. Oddly, I'm not interested in a bread machine at all. I just envision it taking up more counter space! Besides, I feel like experiencing a bit more tradition.

Good morning everyone! :) Today is the annual Hotter N Hell Hundred Bicycle Race (it may be called a Rally now). We got woke up to a good rain at around 4 AM. When I finally got out of bed at around 8:30 the rain had stopped. If we had cleared the rain gauge from the last time, it rained 1 inch this am. I feel sorry for all the riders that were camping out. It did cool things off so the weather will be nice for them. I don't ride in it and try to avoid the area. Too many people and too much congestion for me.

I worked 12 hrs yesterday (4 hrs of OT) and am working 12 hrs tomorrow (all OT), so I don't get to work out much. For dinner yesterday I had a good old fashion frisco burger, onion rings, and an old fashion cherry coke. I know it wasn't healthy but it sure was good. I had been eating pretty well all week and increased my exercise routine so I didn't feel too guilty about it even though the extra 2 pounds on the scales are tne results of my actions.

Patty - hope you get your computer fixed soon. I tease DH that he's my computer guru and he gets really annoid and agravated whenever there's a problem. He always seems to fix it although sometimes it may take him all weekend.

Susan - hope you enjoy your vacation. Next weekend DH and I are off for 5 days and I'm trying to talk him into going up to Colorado or Hot Springs for a mini trip.

Deb - glad to hear the wedding plans are falling together. Hope Katie's dress fits. Did they get the Bride's Maids dresses color all straightened out?

Cussette - homemade bread & biscuits smell so good, making my mouth water & tummy growl. I have tried making homemade biscuits several times and they never turn out. My stepmom said I "play" with the dough too much (she's one of those people that can dump & poor and everything is perfect). I have a bread machine somewhere in one of the cabinets, I haven't used it in years because I thought bread was fattening. DH & I are going grocery shopping today maybe I'll get some stuff & start making some bread.

Well I'm going to start the "Weekly Progress Report" post then get ready for the day. I have got shopping to do, a house to clean, and laundry to do. I'll try to eat healthier today and hopefully get some type of workout in.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.

There's no better smell or taste than homemade bread.
