Hope everyone is having a good weekend and winding down getting ready for the last few days of August and the beginning of September.

I worked at headquarters Friday with an AC vent blowing on my head all day, so the little sore throat thing I had is now a head cold. By the time I finished there I had a headache and just wanted to hit the sheets when I got home.

Saturday, I took Rob and a friend to the beach, but for the first time this year, stinging jellyfish were bad. Rob got stung 6 times in about 10 minutes. I walked for maybe 45 minutes total and found only 5 shark teeth. Most of the shell beds were covered with sand. I did see 8-10 dolphins. They've been very scarce since the weather got hot in late spring. We left early and went by a surf shop, so Rob could pick up some surf wax and they could browse. I went to bed when I came home, because my cold had my sinuses so filled. Got up later that afternoon to get ready for the big rally for Congressman McCollum at 6. There was a good turn-out, and it was fun. I'll be waving a sign for him tomorrow morning, probably at lunch, and again in the evening. His race is neck and neck with Mel Martinez, so I'm pretty nervous about it. A couple of state senators and former U.S. Senator, Connie Mack, were there. A reporter from a Palm Beach newspaper interviewed Tim and me afterward. That was kind of neat. Don't know if we're quoted in their paper today or not.

Today, my head is still kind of filled in spite of cold medicine. Feeling a little loopy from that. I took Rob and friend to the beach today. Surf was much improved, jellyfish were gone, and some shellbeds were exposed. I walked for 4 hours and found 47 shark teeth. I notice I'm not finding as many of the larger ones as I did in spring and the beginning of summer. I watched a fisherman let go an 18" black tip shark he'd caught. I asked

Hope everyone has had a good day and a good weekend. Started off the day with some cleaning up around here since I really didn't get much accomplished around here yesterday. DH had found a great spot in a little North Shore community that is just perfect for setting up a chair and doing nothing. It's a little grassy spot overlooking the water. We brought our folding chairs and our books and spent the afternoon just watching the boats and a few people fishing and did some reading. It was so relaxing and there was no humidity and at least 10 degrees cooler. DD and I made grilled pizza with sausage and vegetables on the bbq for dinner. Very tasty!

Rhonda, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.Hope you feel better soon.

I had a super Sunday.Back in June I thought about trying to reach a goal of a 10 mile run this summer.Realized today summer was just about over so I went for it.It was great! Not sure I'll do it again but felt great to reach a goal I had set for myself.Hard part was coming home and then having to go back to work.Today of all days I had to climb the feed tanks. It was hot here today so between the heat, the run and the chickens I'm ready for bed!39 is not what it was 3 yrs ago ;)
