Digging Out of the Hole at Work......

Sheesh!! So much goes on when you're out of the loop. It was crazy at the office last week, crazy again today, and looks like the craziness will continue for a little longer. I haven't seen any posts since Thursday, so I have no idea what's going on here. I promise to catch up.

I had a break from the crazies this weekend, sort of - we had my niece over for her last sleepover until she gets settled into her new 2nd-grade school routine. We had a blast, despite the horrendous humidity up here over the weekend. School starts for her on Tuesday or Wednesday this week, and for her little brother (kindergarten) next week. Hope the heat lets up - their school building is old and has no air conditioning. I remember going to school at the end of June and early in September in similar conditions. I hated it!

Cussette and Cee - Hope Gaston left you and yours alone this weekend. I didn't even know there was a hurricane heading for the Carolinas until the reports this morning that he had hit.

Hope you're all doing well, or better if you've been ill. Will catch up and add my 2 cents' worth along the way.

Hugs to all,

Donna

Hope you see sunlight soon!

Thanks for asking about Gaston - it never made it above a tropical storm. We got maybe 3/4" of rain because we only got the outer bands of rain, but we were out for the day anyway (got rain there, too). some places got soaked, and others had pretty high wind gusts up into the 80s, including the beach where we've done day trips. Sustained winds were lower, though.

Happy to see you posting again. I look forward to your posts as you emerge from the mountain. ;-) Sounds as though you had a really fun weekend. I'm sure your niece and nephew love coming to stay with you.

When I was in school, the schools in FL weren't air conditioned. I can tell you it was HOT! I also used to go to summer school in high school, like to get out of having to do a science project in chemistry, and it was really like an oven in the classrooms. My best friend and I were lab partners one summer and brought a fan from home to blow on us!

Donna,

Miss you when you're not around. Hope the mountain disappears soon! Glad you had a good weekend with the munchkin!

Take care and hope the craziness lets up real soon!

Hugs,
