Thanks, Phyllis! I finally found "Praying God's Will For Your Life" by Stormie Omartian at a used bookstore. It is so good! I stayed up late reading some of it last night. I skipped over to the part where she and her husband decided they needed to be baptized. So they called Pat Boone, who baptized people in his pool. It was late at night, and Stormie kept hearing a voice that said it was stupid to do this so late at night and it wasn't that important anyway. It's a good thing she didn't listen.

Now, I'm having to deal with obstacles that are trying to interfere with my baptism. I'm supposed to get tomorrow off from work - goodness knows it's like pulling teeth (I hate to use that analogy as you will see why, but I am the only one at this job that hardly ever takes off so I get extremely frustrated about it. Both my boss and coworker take oodles of time off compared to me) to get a day off from this job at the Assoc. My boss has had an abcessed tooth since last week and nothing is helping it, so it looks like I won't get tomorrow off and I had my baptism counseling scheduled for that day. I really hope my boss gets better, but I am so upset and frustrated. The coworker works part-time until 3 pm everyday to be able to pick up her young son & that's when by appointment is! Why can I not look up in the Yellow Pages to find someone to baptize me at 10:00 p.m.? Will definitely pray to God to help me get baptized and to give me patience. I'm going to call the preacher back & see if he would see me later if I can't make it.

Thanks again for the inspirational message this a.m.

Keeping you in my prayers!

This is SO true, Sass! I know that God cares about each and every one of his creation, but to think that the evil one makes it his business to interfere . . . awful! What am I going to do? I'm going to make every effort to get to my appointment tomorrow!! I may just get a Realtor in this office tomorrow to babysit it. After all, tomorrow is a landmark day for me!

Thanks for encouraging me & praying for me, Sassy! Since I can't move up there by you, it's the next best thing to being there with you.

Love

I understand that people get sick and things come up but you have scheduled time off and you have an appt.Seems like everyone else should be respectful of that and work out something so you can follow thru with your plans.I really hope you can work this out. It's important to you and you deserve it.Keeping you in my thoughts, Kat.

Thanks, Princess! I hope I get to counsel tomorrow, too! It would mean alot to me to be able to get baptized tomorrow, but if I have to wait, so be it. I did go down to the Church office and spoke to the secretary (the pastor was out) and almost in tears, I explained my situation. I told her if I called to tell them I couldn't make it tomorrow to please just know that I still want to get baptized. I live less than 5 min. away from that Church and can get baptized on my lunch hour if he would consider doing it that way.

Now this is a woman anxious to get baptized!

We could start a new ministry...drive thru lunch hour baptisms!

I'm just teasing you, ya know. I think it really says something about your commitment to get baptized...you're willing to just go do it!

Patty was right...it's NEVER about you and always about everyone else there. And I don't think I need to tell you how I feel about THAT!

It will work out Kit Kat. Hang in there!

Love ya,

Sassy

Kat, baptism is important. I was baptized last year on Easter Sunday and it was an exceptional expierence. Hold on to your faith and trust in God, he will make things work out. Is it possible for your priest to meet you at work or maybe speak with you on the phone. My expierence is most priest are willing to work with you.

Good luck & God be with you. I'll ask Him to send you an Angel to look after you and protect you while you go through this. I have found the closer I get to God the harder the evil one trys to get in the way. Have you ever read the book of Job in the Bible, it is mainly about how the devil trys to tear us away from our relationship with God.

Keep us informed. My prayers are with you. May God bless you, keep you, and protect you.

That's a good idea, Sassy! I know you're just kidding, but really, alot of people don't have patience for & can't relate to single moms with 2 jobs & no time. Kind of like left handers (I'm one of those too) - there are still people who think everyone should be a right hander! I bet Stormie OMartian would be a good one to start a ministry like that or maybe that Joel Osteen on TV. Maybe after ds is grown, I can start that type of ministry. After all, there's biker ministries!!!!

You're the best, Sassy - thanks for being so there for me!

Hugs,

Kat

You're so sweet, Alice! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement - we'll have to meet someday! I will share some great news with you after tomorrow!

Hugs,

Kat

P.S. Congratulations on your baptism. I DO believe in its importance and yes, I have read the book of Job. The evil one tries his hardest to come between God and His own.
