Hi Everyone. A quick update....
| Wed, 09-01-2004 - 6:17pm |
The last couple of weeks have been a zoo around here. DD had her surgery on Monday morning and she is doing extremely well. They had to remove 2 feet of her small intestine, (the part that absorbs fats and lipids), so that will probably present some dietary challenges. But apart from that, the rest of her system looks fine! She was up and mobile when I went in to see her yesterday and eager to start eating again.
In the midst of all of this we have had yet *more* company and somehow managed to finally pull of the long planned garage sale. It went much better than I had anticipated. Now I'm just gearing up to get back into the fall/school routine. Looking forward to it.
Eating has been going very, very well, and I actually have two workouts under my belt this week. Hoping to get two more before the week is out.
Rhonda, I've been keeping and eye on the Frances news. Hope it misses you. Stay safe!
Donna, hope work settles down for you very soon.
Gotta run and start dinner before the hockey game! I'll try and post a bit more.

Sounds like you are managing everything like a pro! Congratulations on the garage sale; never had one here, but DH and I helped his parents with theirs several years ago, long before they sold their house, on a very chill and windy November Saturday - I think I held a filled coffee mug in my hands for the entire afternoon, my fingers were so numb.
Hope the school year for the little ones kicks off as well as everything else has been going. I need a jump-start with my workouts - not a whole lot of energy left at the end of the day lately (and you know what I think of getting up at 4:30 am!). Just hope I can roust myself out of this work-induced funk and get on with it. I'll try to use your smooth management of your life as inspiration.
Take care!
Donna
Congratulations on your staying on track with all that's been happening with you and your family. Hope you enjoyed the visiting & the dividends from your garage sale!
How old are your sons, now? Is the little one going to school already?
My little guys are 6 and 3 1/2 now. Yes, the little one will be going to preschool two mornings a week. He is chomping at the bit and would have been happy if he had been able to go last year! I'm looking forward to it, but am a titch sad about my oldest youngest son going into grade 1. It means he'll be gone for the best part of the day and I will miss him. I also think I'm a little bit perplexed about the free time I'll have. I'm not quiet sure what I'm going to do yet!!! Famous last words....I probably won't end up with *any* free time!! LOL
Thanks for your good wishes and happy, happy birthday again!\\

I couldn't help but gasp when I read what your daughter has been through. Sure hoping and praying this is the solution to her problem. I give you a lot of credit for keeping it all together through that and with everything else you have going on. I know it's tough when the little ones start to venture out into the world. You'll probably be amazed at how quickly that "free" time fills up.
Thanks for your good wishes.

Sorry to hear about what you've been going thru, plus taking care of the guys. Sending you thoughts and prayers for your daughter (and her mom!).
Good to hear from you.

Glad to hear your daughter is doing well after her surgery. Thoughts and prayers for her for a complete recovery.
Glad to hear your garage sale was a success-my younger DD and I are having one Saturday and we're hoping for good weather and lots of people to buy stuff!
I'm sure you will find lots to do in your "free time". I always felt a little lost the first couple of days when the kids went back to school-especially when all 3 were there. But somehow I always managed to find things to keep me occupied-and then I started babysitting and then was looking for "free time" again!
Congratulations on keeping so on track during all of your hectic days!

So your boys will be gone some, my birds will be gone...I'm thinking let's meet in the middle for lunch :)
