~~Thankful Thursday Post~~

Good morning!I love Thursdays when we stop and think about what we have to be thankful for.Sometimes it seems like I always post the same thing such as family and friends. At times I feel like I should come up with something different and then I realize how lucky I am to have constants in my life.In a world that changes daily it's nice to have things you can count on. And in a world where we're bombarded with bad news , it's good to set time aside to reflect on the positve things. So what's on your list of thankfuls today?
What's your workout for today?Any thoughts about a board challenge?Have we ever had a challenge that involves pumpkin pie????:)
Have a great day!

I'm also thankful for a bag of shirts I remembered I had yesterday.I have had mixed emotions about the changing seasons and then I remembered some shirts my neice had passed down to me.LOL Sometimes you have to reach deep inside of yourself to come out of a funk. And sometimes all it takes is a cute top.I also remembered it's time for Coscto to put out their pumkin pies soon.I've never had one but this year one of my "goals" is to try one.
And I'm also thankful that even as I type the chickens are leaving the farm and I am looking at some time off.I'm going to try not to dwell on the fact that service guy said he would be coming out even when I don't have birds.WHY??????
Workout today will be a run and the LB work I didn't do yesterday. It may also be tossing DH out the door if he hangs around and gets in my way.

Thanks Patty for your positive words to start off the day! We had a really nice day in NYC yesterday. We walked the 16 blocks from the train station to the theatre, picked up our tickets and walked a little bit more. In spite of some of the streets being closed, really had little impact on the amount of people on the streets in Manhattan. Lots of police presence in the train station and on the surrounding streets. Nice to have their presence there but a bit intimindating at the same time. The show was wonderful and we really enjoyed it. Oldest and youngest children didn't want to join us for dinner so we went out to dinner at a small little restaurant by us with our younger DD and we had a very nice dinner together. Got back just in time for an evening walk with Sir Otto-so a good part of the day was spent walking. This evening we're headed to a Long Island Ducks vs. th Bridgeport Bluefish game here on LI. We've never been to one of these so should be fun!
Thankful this morning for the lovely weather we've had over the past few days. Thankful for the opportunity to enjoy some fun activities! Thankful for a safe and uneventful trip into NYC-I will admit I was a bit nervous and apprehensive about making the trip.
Hope your day is a good one!
Susan
Since you have some time off, get in the car and head this way. We can meet for lunch and/or something! Let me know if a day works for you next week...
I don't know about anyone else, but I DO know that Pumpkin Pie has definitely been a part of previous FoF challenges for me :)
I'm thankful for the 3 days I was able to spend with my Aunt in July. We were able to talk about so many different things, including touching upon Spirtuality. I know that when she passed away yesterday, she was sure of where she was going and He was there waiting for her with His open arms.
I'm thankful for a few very wise, grounded women who take time from their day, every day, to e-mail me or phone or drop me a note thru slug mail to encourage me, kick my butt, love me, etc. Thanks, girls.

P.S. I am ESPECIALLY thankful that school is starting in 5 days! Yippee!!!!!!!
OK...have I said this before....WHEN IS YOUR BOOK COMING OUT?
I can always count on you for a positive message Patty.

Thankful thankful thankful that I have a fitness program that after almost 3 years...12 or so classes (or volunteer classes LOL) a week I still love, has brought me a lot of carry friends and good support circle.
I always enjoy reading the Thankful Thursday posts. Gives me ideas about additional things for which I should be thankful.
I think I'll stick with the thankful for my family at the top of

Sassy, heartfelt hugs on your Aunt's passing, but even in the grief there is joy knowing where she is and that one day there's gonna be some fantastic reunion!
Rhonda, watching Frances and holding my breath with you. I think you're wise to make plans to leave if it gets to that. Maybe she'll swing north and head out to see and not bother anyone...? That'd be ideal.
My thankfuls... I've been jammed in neutral the past two weeks in that respect, in a bit of a rut. Hmmm, I'm thankful for the time I've had to do some much needed reorganization in the house. Thankful for a bright daughter. Thankful for the comforting arms of my husband - both for me and for Allison (Allison's been trying to redo a bead necklace that broke and dissolved into tears when it came undone a third time spilling beads everywhere - Dad was there with TLC). Thankful for the rain we've had. Thankful for shish kabobs on the grill! Had them last night and they were yummy. Thankful for the ability and stamina to run (did my 4.6 miles yesterday in overcast but warm and humid weather, felt strong). Hey, and I'm thankful for God and His mercy and love. Well, I guess I had more to be thankful for than I thought!
Today, I'm back from water aerobics, and went straight into mowing and edging the lawn, followed by blowing the driveway and the gutter in front of the house. Didn't organize anything like I thought I would because of making meatballs and doing laundry, maybe today that'll continue. Tonight, the n'hood women's group is getting together for the season opening meeting. Looks like a fun schedule this year so I'll be going. Might start packing for MIL's over Labor Day.

Patty, I'm sure with all the workouts you get in, you could eat the whole pie from Costco and it wouldn't even be a blip on the scale!!
I have week jam packed with thankfuls.
I'm extremely thankful that my prayers were answered and Jen's surgery went so well. I hope her recovery continues to be quick.
I'm very thankful for the family that has rallied around to help out. My two oldest children have gone in to visit Jen on a regular basis which takes a bit of pressure off at this end, as it's almost a 1/2 hour drive each way to the hospital. Dh's cousin and family came and made us dinner the night we had the garage sale and FIL cooked dinner the following night.
I'm thankful that my older girls are speaking to their father again. They both have issues with him and they hadn't spoken to him for a few months, so it's good that they are back in touch.
I'm thankful to have the garage sale out of the way. It's one of those things that I don't look forward to and am delighted to see done for another year!
I'm thankful that the rest of my family has their health.
I'm thankful that I'm back on track with my eating and exercise. I'm feeling very positive about it. Today I've already got my cardio, UB and abs in. Food has been excellent and I'm on my second litre of water.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
