~~Miraculous Friday~~

Good morning everyone.I was talking to a friend the other day who said it would be a miracle if she made it to Friday! Some weeks are like that aren't they!Yesterday during my run I was thinking about her comment. And I was also thinking about Bootys post yesterday. It was a beautiful post and as I ran I could picture the flowers in my mind.So what's a miracle in your mind?Is it getting thru a tough week?Is it a beautiful field of flowers growing wild?I think of man being able to walk on the moon as an icredible thing but too often take for granted the miracle of the sun rising each and every day.I marvel at the bith of a baby but forget how incredible it is that the human body can endure for 70,80 and more years.I considered being able to run 10 miles a miracle. And as each step brought me closer to my goal I was so excited. But the steps I take in CL each day are no less significant as they allow me to reach my daily work goal.Sometimes we get so caught up in looking for the big things we forget just how significant the little everday things really are.
So what's on your schedule for today?Anyone off an extra day for the holiday weekend.Any special plans for the weekend?Who's working out today?Who's thinking about sneaking in some hammock time? However you're spending your day I hope it's filled with wonderful ordinary things that make it extraordinary!!!!
Rhonda, keeping you all in my thoughts.

Another wonderful insightful post Patty. Thanks for your words that make me stop and think each and every morning. Every day is a miracle in my book. As we were sitting at the ball game last night this incredibly beautiful not quite full moon appeared in the outfield. It had that orangy kind of fall like quality to it and it was amazing watch it rise in the sky and get a little darker in color. Miracles are around us every day and somedays in the hectic pace and stress of today's world they get overlooked but it's really great to stop and pause and think about the miracles that surround us.
Well it's the last official day of vacation week-the week sure has flown by. The game last night was fun. DD and I went shopping yesterday as the men folk of the house were involved in DS' never ending car project-and I knew at some point in the day the attitude would start flying and not so nice words were bound to be exchanged. Fortunately it didn't happen until the end of the afternoon but DD and I were glad to escape! Lots of bargains on tax free week (although you escape the state sales tax of 4 1/4-we still end up paying 4 1/4 local tax). I ended up getting quite a few nice things for fall although after some trying on last night I have a pair of jeans and a pair of dress pants which could be possible returns-they fit but a little more snugly than may be comfortable. I'll have to mull that over! But several cute tops and blouses and a light weight creamy white zip up the front sweater-hopefully just right for Asheville!
Lots of things to do around here today since playing hookey yesterday. I have to have my appointment with the vampire this morning-not looking forward to that. Food department is running low and have to get things in final order for the garage sale tomorrow. Sunday we will be celebrating my MIL's 85th birthday and by Monday I know that I'm going to need to get the house clean and in order before going off to the "W" word on Tuesday.
I actually did put on workout clothes and actually did a workout yesterday-it had been a full week and I really need to address the whole work out situation. Lori had said yesterday how she feels that she has reached a balance in her workouts- Something that I seem to struggle with a lot lately.
Hope your day is a good one and that we all can take in the little things in life that are truly miracles!
Keeping all you girls in the path of Frances in my thoughts and prayers!

We rolled out of bed at 6:30 am this morning, so go a bit of the jump on the day.
Great thoughts Patty and so true! I was just thinking yesterday, that the lawns our neighbourhood were incredibly green these days. The last few weeks have brought some good rainfalls here and all of a sudden the street has come to life with vibrant green after staring at brown lawns all year!
Looking for an early workout today. Cardio and abs. Hoping to have another good eating day too.
We are off to the store to buy new lunchkits and underwear this morning!! LOL The joys of the new school year. Then Adam has a friend coming over to play this afternoon.
We packed off all the leftover garage sale stuff yesterday afternoon. We took it to the Salvation Army (usually I go to the Women In Need), but as I was driving to the hospital to visit dd a commercial came on the radio about donating to the Salvation Army and how much good they do. Sounds wierd, but it was almost as though God was telling me that I did the right thing!
Busy weekend ahead. In between visiting dd we are planning on taking the boys to the swimming pool where they will be taking their lessons so they can get used to it. And sometime this weekend we are hoping to go to the Saanich Fall Fair. I'm eager to check out the baking, knitting and art exhibits.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend ladies. Rhonda stay safe.
On a more positive note, I find miracles in the changing of the seasons - from the going to sleep of autumn to the waking up of spring, the movement of time (who set that in motion, hmm?), the vastness of the universe, the differences in landscapes, the way our own physiology works and in childbirth. Watching a child grow and learn is miraculous. The fact that we still learn as adults is miraculous. I find laughter miraculous (why does it feel so wonderful to laugh?), and the feelings that well deep within upon extreme emotions miraculous as well. Hard to fathom that it "just is" - that it is Someone's Master Plan is much more plausible. And I find the love of that Someone astonishing as well as the events demonstrating that love miraculous.
Me? Packing today! No workout, because I want a complete day of rest before the run tomorrow. I feel pretty strong: it's about 1800 ft higher in elevation, but it's also cooler and not as humid. If I can run up hills here in near-80o heat with saturated air, I should do fine there. After tomorrow's run, I plan on taking Sunday and Monday off as well. Time to do some goofing off!

Love your morning posts, Patty.
Patty - Every time you wake up looking at the top of the grass instead of the roots, it's a miracle! Thank you for another uplifting message.
My miracle has been making it to Friday. I think I know what my next job is going to be -zookeeper. Or cat herder. Enough said. I'm heading out of here in a bit for a longish weekend. We don't have any real firm plans yet, but there's been discussion of heading to Newport, RI or to the Mystic/Stonington, CT area for the day Sunday if we can get it together early enough. We haven't been down that way in a couple of years. DH and his family used to spend summers in a part of RI called Weekapaug/Quonocontaug, right on the beach near the RI/CT border. The beaches there are just beautiful, and it's not as crazy commercial as Cape Cod is so the atmosphere is less hurried. And Stonington, CT is a beautiful town that's like a trip back in time; very quiet, right on the coast, and very pretty. If my mom thinks she can stand a long car ride without a lot of stops to stretch her legs, she'll come with us; the little ones are going off with their parents for an overnight in Plymouth, MA, so Mom will be a bit lonesome without them nearby. And if we don't get our act together on the early side of Sunday, we'll just hang out at home - Mom wants to find something to wear to her high school reunion (her 61st!), so I can take her shopping.
Lately another miracle for me is getting workouts in. There will be a few of them this weekend, that's for sure; too many too late nights and too little energy to follow through with my big plans. Fortunately, I'll be able to get back on track quickly; my supervisor has promised us a "lull" in the workload, so I might actually get home before dark for a few weeks. I wonder if his definition of lull and mine are anywhere near similar. Then there's always the Big Guy in the Corner Office, who doesn't know how to spell lull.....
Have a good day, everyone!
