I picked up baby sister (lol, she is 35 and the bride to be), drove her, our mom, Katie and myself out to the Hamptons. Took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes, traffice was building around 9. Spent a good portion of the day at the Classic. Saw only one famous person. Watched some horses jumping and did a bit of walking. On my way out I had my 2 hard boiled eggs. Lunch was the yogurt and I bought a salad. Drank tons of water today and have been running to the potty often. Left Sharon out in the Hamptons with future hubby and headed home. Mom and I stopped at a local farm stand and we bought some fresh grown tomatoes, string beans and a cauliflower. The cauliflower is simmering right now and I need to put my chicken cutlets on the grill. We are having those tomatoes sliced with some low fat ranch dressing drizzled over the top and some brown rice. Not bad, right. I guess the best and easiest food tomorrow at the track is sandwiches so I need to get some fresh turkey breast. That is it for today, going to bed early and get some needed rest.
How did the rest of you do?
Deb

Didn't "work out", but ran a race, and had fun doing it.

I did pretty good today so far. Not hungry for dinner, but will make myself eat a little. Had a small bowl of Special K Strawberry cereal w/skim milk for breakfast. Had minestrone, salad, and a little bread for lunch. May have some grilled chicken & veggies for dinner.
Walked/ran 5 miles today. This lady on one of those shopping networks who was peddling a treadmill reminded me that 500 calories burned each day for 6 days a week = 1 pound lost. If I'm doing great on my eating, I couldn't help but lose a lb. a week (unless AF messes with the formula), right?
Has anyone read the Oct. Shape magazine issue yet? There's an article about portion control being the ultimate diet secret (instead of being about carbs, fat or cutting out anything). There's also some other interesting articles on age defying workouts in your 40's, slaying the binge monster, to lose weight: measure body fat or BMI?, bu** lifters, and 7 sneaky reasons dining out is making you fat.
Walgreens sent me a $20. coupon in the mail so I bought Shape mag and Southern Living (can't make up my mind whether I want to be in shape or comforted). Of course, the Southern Living mag has all kinds of comfort type food recipes for coffee cakes, chicken & rice, and cobblers. I really just bought it to look at their favorite mums for the season and the southern home awards. Right!
Hope you all had an exceptional day. Rhonda, hope you are ok. I'm watching the news right now on Frances. It looks horrible!
Enjoyed the story about little miss chatterbox! Boy, I'd love a chatterbox around my house sometimes now that I have a noncommunicative teenager! I think teenage girls are more talkative than boys, so you probably won't be wondering what happened to your child once she hits her teens.
Fall was in the air!!A wonderful maple candle was burning in B&B.Beautiful fall displays were up in the stores. And , yes, pumpkin pies were in Costco!!!!!My sister and I drooled over them for awhile. But I thought long and hard about how hard I've worked out this summer and decide not to blow it this early in the season on pie.Besides my cart was already full what with the chips and the muffins.....
We went in Victorias Secret but by then I was way too tired to tackle panties, power or otherwise.I did have one bright moment in there though.I love their T shirt bras. But my neice said she didn't like them because they seem to flatten you out.Could it be that my chest is actually bigger but it's just a bra malfunction of some sort making it seem otherwise????If so I hope the next thing they make is T shirt underwear!!!
And finally the perfect end to the perfect day.My sister and I completely embarassed my niece by having a laughing fit in Costco.Sometimes life is so good!!!
