Know what you mean about traveling, Nancy. It kind of upsets my body clock, too. I wish I had been able to get to church today, but it's ok as mother called me right as I was heading out the door for church. She and I had a long talk about the hurricanes in Florida (she said my brothers are fine out in Gainesville area, my cousin Jan & her husband are fine in Panama City and my aunt & uncle who live in Charlotte County that was hit by Charley are fine as of this a.m.). My aunt told her it took 5 days to get the power back on after Charley & the power co. marked the doors of homes they checked with red "X". A lady from up north came to visit my aunt and asked her if she knew her house had been condemned! LOL! We then talked about my visit to New Jersey in October. She told me we might want to go to Princeton University, Pennsylvania Dutch area, Philadelphia, maybe the Jersey shore (she mentioned Cape May). Sounds like my mom wants to travel!

I can't believe the damage Frances has wrought! I hope you're ok, Rhonda. Now they're talking about Hurricane Ivan heading for Florida!!! I also am so saddened about all of the people killed in Russia!

I did my 5 miles of walking/running. Also, did the Firm UB/LB workout and their abs video. Eating today was good, too. Had a wonderful tomato basil type salad for dinner - yummy!

Happy Sunday evening. It was a busy, busy day here today. Had a leisurely read of the paper this morning, got a really good cardio and UB workout in (5th this week). Then we packed up the kidlets and headed for the fall fair.

The fair was a new experience for us. Well, not so much for me (except that I haven't been to this one), because I was born and raised a country girl. Dh has only ever attended inter-city fairs. When we got there, we parked in a giant field and had to walk through freshly mowed hay. It smelled glorious and brought back so many memories! The boys wanted to head for the midway immediately, but I dragged them through the animal barns! They were pretty good about it, but they did start to get a bit antsy when I had to stop and savour the smell of the hay bales!! LOL But, they got a real kick out of the baby chicks and the pigs. Of course I had to remind them of Wilbur and the fair (Charlotte's Web) so they were hunting for spider webs.

Dh took them to play on all of the farm equipment and I got to spend an hour or so touring the exhibits of knitting and art. (Never made it to the baking and cooking). I simply must make an effort to enter items next year. I'm sure it would be fun to win some ribbons.

Finally we hit the midway. The boys went on the giant slide, the ferris wheel (I thought Max would be terrified, but he loved it) and the flying airplane! After our purchase of cotton candy and candy apples (which I haven't even had one bite of) we decided it was time to leave. We all agreed that next year we will make a full day of it!

We dropped everyone at home and I headed off to visit dd at the hospital. While there they shut the elevators down because they had an emergency on the 4th floor (psych ward), so ended up taking the stairs down! I think I'll take bonus points for that!

Just tucking into some lamb kabobs, greek salad and boiled new potatoes for dinner and I'm starving.

Have a wonderful evening ladies. I think I shall be sawing logs soon!
