Glad to know this group exists, but am an old bag of 61 still fighting the battle of the bulge. Have lost and gained several "bodies" over the years & am trying to regroup yet again with the current one. Would love to hear from other "ol bags" like me who are still in there struggling. Have a grandson coming home on leave from the Navy in the next few weeks & intend to spend time with him while he's home, so will need all the energy I can find.:) Then, we have a nephew getting married in October, so another short-term goal to get with it, etc etc. Still work full-time in an office which is a lot of the problem in the lower region where the sands of time lurk & settle (or just plain lack of exercise and/or laziness).

Love to hear from any of you in this on-going struggle.

Just a spring chicken here at the ripe age of 43. Welcome to our merry group no matter your age. You are as young as you feel. We look forward to getting to know you better.

I'm one of the beyond "40" group here at age 51 and I certainly wouldn't consider you an old bag at the tender age of 61! Welcome to the group and hope you'll be sticking around! Great board and great ladies!

Welcome to the board, dutch. Hope to hear more from you. I'm 45 and kind of struggle to get my workouts in, but I do enjoy them. I think you will find it enjoyable to give yourself the loving care that you need. Do you ever get a chance to walk?

Nancy, thank you for your warm response & I will reconsider my "ol bag" title. Congrats on achieving better health & fitness now than in your younger years. I will certainly try to follow your example. Am looking forward to the camaraderie & support that seems to be prevalent in this group.

Thanks for the welcome "spring chickie" & agree with your outlook that you are as young as you feel. Have doggedly stuck with my early morning routine of at least 20 minutes on the exercise bike and/or stretching exercises for the past 6 days and am mostly over the "ouchy" soreness of unused muscles, so am feeling a sense of accomplishment in this part of the struggle.

Thank you for the welcome, Kat. I believe you have touched on a priority issue when you mentioned giving oneself the loving care one needs. As most women, I have had to rethink priorities to include myself in the top section rather than at the bottom. It's another of my struggles. Yes, I do try to walk when possible. My 40 plus years in office attire and at least 30 yrs wearing high heeled pumps (which I still adore) have left my feet in dire straits with a hammertoe on one foot. But it is manageable with proper shoes altho I am hesitant to walk too far or too long.

But I've really been giving the exercise bike hell!! haha

Thank you, Lori, for your welcome and kind wishes. You certainly have some fine people here & I've had a hearty welcome from several already. Am looking forward to reading & posting replies when I can.
