It's hard to believe that it's Thursday already.

It's hard to believe that it's Thursday already.
I'm heading off to work shortly.

Not too long ago I saw a bumper sticker that said something about practicing random acts of kindness and I thought that was a good idea at the time. Thanks for reminding me.
Workout today was a bike ride in the gym at work.

This morning I'm thankful for life's basic necessities that I so often take for granted and and that many others don't have. Although health issues are making for a bit of stress in my life at the moment-there are so many others that are troubled by much more serious issues. I'm thankful to be able to see, hear and speak and get to wherever I need to go on my own two feet. I'm also very thankful for the love and support of family and friends to get me through my anxious moments.
Nothing new on this end of the horizon. Still playing catchup at work. There was a glimmer of sunshine a few minutes ago but it seems to have disappeared again and the threat of rain remains for the rest of the day. But the weatherman has promised a nice weekend-we'll see if he lives up to that claim!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Nancy, there are some weeks when I think time is passing by too quickly and I'm not doing enough with it to benefit someone else or myself, and there are weeks like the last couple that I'm veryveryveryvery happy to kiss goodbye. So, I'm thankful to have come out of this stretch in one piece with my sanity and professional self-esteem generally intact and my health mostly uncompromised.
I'm thankful that all we're dealing with weatherwise are clouds and occasional downpours rather than both the random destruction and inconvenience that Mother Nature has imposed elsewhere (of course, there's always a NE winter to look forward to). BTW, I was amazed at the number of you up this way who have generators for emergency power. Never had one, probably never will. Living in a fool's paradise, I guess. The only emergency tool DH and I have ever purchased is a wet/dry vac, which we've never used because we had a sump pump installed shortly after that - knock wood - hasn't let us down yet during big rains.
I'm thankful for the phone call I received from one of the other regional offices this morning. Just when you're feeling like no matter what you produce or accomplish it's not enough, a saving call like that one comes in that makes you feel like you're doing high-quality work without being beaten about the head and shoulders and that the product you've created really can make a difference. So, thanks to the guys in our CT office.
I'm thankful that IT'S FINALLY FOOTBALL SEASON! Cannot wait for the game tonight. GO PATS!!! And I'll be dredging that little message sign-off back up for the next several months....
And I'm thankful for all the other good stuff we talk about - a supportive DH, good friends here and home, a solid family that's nearby. No need to list them - we all know what they are and that, without them as our foundation, we'd be sunk.
45-min cardio workout on the agenda this evening. I can't leave healthy eating to chance, but there's a football game on tv tonight and I really prefer not to be in the kitchen cooking while it's happening. Maybe some exotic ethnic variety takeout. Maybe Trader Joe's. Might end up caving in and just having a junk-food fest. We'll see.
Happy Thursday, everyone, and - GO PATS!! (sorry - hehehe)

Hi Everyone,
Great post Nancy!

My sister does random acts of kindness each day. I love it.You'll be riding in the car with her and she'll let someone out in front of her and say" random act".She has so much fun with it.
Today has been crazy!!Took MIL to an appt in another town.DH and FIL had so many instructions for me before we left I finally blew up and said"who's doing this?Me or you guys?" Even MIL turned to me and said"let's get out of here and away from them!!".LOL Then I came home and was out on the porch talking to my sister on the phone when service guy showed up.Had to end that call and waste time with him.In the meantime 3 more calls came thru. After he left I tried to return the calls and was in the middle of one when another MAN working in my chicken houses tripped a breaker and cut off part of my power, including the phone. We have some things going thru there so the generator will carry them if need be.Then I head to the track to work off some aggrivation. When I get there , there is someone running and walking backwards.I know there are reasons that people do that but, honestly don't you sometimes feel people complicate things?I hate days like this when I feel so out of sorts and like everyone is pushing my buttons.Makes me feel like I need a complete personality overhaul.
Thankfuls: Thankful for my run which really did help.Thankful for a message that came to me just when I needed it.Thankful for friends who listen.Thankful that all the rain we got yesterday did not cause flooding.Thankful for the break I've had from chickens.

Busy day this morning at work and home. Went into the office at 8:30 and stayed until 3:30. Had to have Billy run and get Katie for me. Tomorrow will be a long day too, full day I should say. I need to run to the grocery store and I need to pay bills but I think a 20 minute cat nap might be better suited for me. Hope you all had a great day!

I'm thankful for ELECTRICITY as of 2:25 this morning!!! A very thanful Thursday in what has been an incredibly long week for us. We were awakened to the sound of our fire alarms going off full blast. We've never had that happen before when power has been restored. There are still thousands of people without power, and I have so much more empathy than I ever did before. Passed a number of tree services out getting wires off lines and Jax. Elec. Auth. bucket trucks out working to restore power. Still don't have internet or cable TV, but I'm learning to cope. Also, thankful that my parents never lost their electricity and that we didn't have any major property damage.
Once the power came on, I couldn't sleep, so I bathed both dogs. They were miserably hot and stunk! I cleaned the bathroom, started on a few of the 4 loads of laundry, scrubbed the breakfast room floor, scrubbed the freezer and refrigerator, got rid of the ice in the cooler, took the trash out in the middle of the night, did some paperwork for today's Cowford Ball meeting, and finally went back to bed at 5:45 AM. Of course, when I had to get up at 8, I was pretty beat.
I had the big meeting today, which went well. I've made tremendous progress in the last couple of days, so I'm not feeling so overwhelmed as I was. When I finish this post, I'll be updating my lasted report to email to everyone. Oh, one of the things I will be doing is trying to create a realistic faux cow paddy!! LOL!
