Wanted to let y'all know what I've been up to besides 5'4". Wow. I've not been on the computer AT ALL since Friday morning when I posted the Friday Five. Wednesday I was getting things ready to consign things which took most of the day. Thursday I worked the sale receiving items from other consignors and then had a ton o' things to do afterwards. Friday, I plunged headlong into Al's Halloween costume. Saturday, shopped the consignment event on it's presale day, then we all went to a birthday party for the daughter of one of our closest friends. Sunday, church and more project brain. Yesterday, worked my second shift at consignment. This morning... I'm meeting someone at the church (have to leave in about 25 minutes) to help organize study guides for the Thursday morning Bible study - which starts Thursday and I'll be in it. Whew. Because of all the activity, I'm having a heck of a time winding down at night, and so I'm staying up late. Means I'm running on a quarter-tank!
Costume for Allison is complete! Modified a dress pattern for Daphne in the Scooby Doo cartoon series. I think I mentioned The Cus-ster, as he's taking her trick-or-treating, will be The Shag-ster for a night. Me? Last minute decision, I've decided that I'll answer the door as Velma! LOL! Unfortunately I got rid of my old gold-colored turtleneck, but I managed to find a goldish sweater at a thrift store for $3. I couldn't have made anything that cheap. Skirt I'm making, modifying a pattern again, and I dug up some old gold-colored socks in the rear of my sock drawer.
Allison is just thriving at K - now she's writing stories here at home, pretending they're the Big Books that they use in school. She's been asking us how to spell words for a while, but now she's constructing sentences. Amazing. I've been awful on exercise AND eating since the race on Sept 4th. Working the sale had me active at least. Perhaps today I'll get in some weight work. Tomorrow I'm meeting a lady in the n'hood who runs in a nearby Agricultural Extension of one of the state's universities. She says there are some nice trails there, but it's good to have someone show them to you.
Speaking of the race, my official time was 50'52", about a 10'11" or so mile. Here are those 3 pics that I was telling y'all about. That's Denise and me racing to the finish line - I finished one second ahead of her officially, though it probably wasn't that much.
Thinking of those in Ivan's path. I'll have to catch up on posts in the next few days, but I wanted to let y'all know that I haven't keeled over in a parking lot somewhere. LOL!
