Ok, a free chicken to the first one who knows what the frug is!!!!Oh what the heck I'll throw in a slightly used husband too!!!!

I read the most incredible story today.Maybe some of the rest of you read about this too.Leon Fleisher was a very talented pianist when he was struck with muscle ailment. It caused him to lose the use of one hand.He at first went into a terrible 2 year depression. He then tried every treatment, every medicine , every therapy he could to regain the use of his hand.Along the way he also accepted his situation and tried to make the best of it.He continued to play and also began to teach. He did this for 40 years and did well. Then the drs tried a new treatment, they gave him botox shots in the hand.It worked and he was able, with continued shots, to play again with both hands. What an amazing story of someone who kept trying. He took the situation he had been given, made the best of it and yet still never gave up on reaching his goal of playing with both hands.Reading this story made me realize 1) how lucky I am to have the health and abilities I do and 2)how much is possible if we keep working and striving.

So how has your week gone?Anyone with fabulous and exciting plans for the weekend?Anyone set any goals for this week that they met?Anyone just happy to get thru the week????:)

Have a fabulous Friday!!!!

Just a guess, but I think the frug was a dance.

Good Morning,

Ok I know the answer-the frug was a dance-think I'll pass on the prizes though-I already have a slightly used husband and I think one of those is quite enough!

More inspiring thoughts for the day from our one and only Princess Patty! Thanks for good things to mull over in my brain.

Today is just the usual work day and I'm glad the week is over-it's been a long one. The office was so dead yesterday that we actually closed about 45 minutes early. I could live with a 9 to 4:15 workday on a routine basis! Tomorrow I'll be traveling with 2 of my sisters for a surprise 70th birthday for our oldest sister and DH will be flying to Michigan as he was selected by his local to be part of a training seminar to help returning vets returning to the work force. He's very excited about taking part in this.

That's about it from the LI point of view-hope everyone has a great day!

Patti, your posts are amazing. Thanks again for giving us, especially me something to think about. Sitting here and wallowing in my own world, sad. I have so much and yesterday was so busy and then depressing after my fitting. I just sat and read everyones "Thursday Thankfuls", and your sister commments hit home. I am so thankful to have my 2 sisters. They truly are my best friends, even if we are angry with the other we always come thru!

I am off from work today and I so need it. Since starting with Tom in July I was supposed to have Friday's off but with vacations I think I worked everyday. My house looks it and I think I am starting to stress over that. One week from today we are having the wedding rehursal dinner here at my house. Then on Saturday my sister is getting dressed here "in my house", such an honor and having her pictures taken here. We had the kitchen cealing fixed and the painter finished Thursday. Bill has to rehang my cealing fan. Then in the midst of everything the painter offers Bill a proposition. His van was in for repairs and I guess the bill was going to be more then he wanted so he offered to finish tearing down the falling boarder in the bathroom downstairs and paint the room for us. They traded the work out. So I got my kitchen cealing painted, the boarder down in the bathroom and I picked out a pale pink paint and he painted the bathroom. Bill just about died when I told him I picked pink.......lol. But the sink counter top is mauve, and the shower tiles have a hint of pink and gray swirled together. I like it. Now I need to find a new shower curtain today and look for a new medicine cabinet, since Bill ripped the old one out on Wednesday night. A bit more to do around here in the next week.

Having Aunt Flo this week is good because she will have left the building by the time of the wedding. I am journeling everything that goes into my mouth and I am going to watch the first of several new videos that I bought. Maybe try and do a little, if not then just put my shorts on and go for a walk. The sun is partly out and I think its trying to stay. Your story Patti about the piano player is amazing and I often loose sight of how truly lucky I really am. I so need to focus on me and do for me. I tend to put EVERYONE else ahead and I think I am suffering for it. Time to fit me time in. I know I will have Friday's off from now on, so that will be a DEB day. Fitting in a few extra minutes in the morning will be a priority, the heck with getting a batch of laundry folded before I get in the shower, that will be there upon my return from work. So starting on Monday, tea, shorts, and walk. Lunches will get packed the night before and Bill will just have to get Katie up, while I am gone. Time to head out the door now, and get this day moving.

Happy Frugging Friday...

Couldn't resist......

You mention the frug and all I could think of was the party scene on Laugh-In every Monday night. Good dance - quite aerobic, works the arms.

Not being a wise-acre and ignoring your inspiring story, Patty. The rest of us need stories about people like Leon Fleisher to remind us of how good we have things and to count our blessings before they disappear.

Cardio and abs on the workout menu tonight, along with Middle Eastern dinner and aerobic cake baking for the birthday tomorrow. I was going to go with carrot cake, but I might go with plain old chocolate so the kids will actually eat some (two cute little noses turn up when you tell them it's carrot cake - they're cute, but too young to know what's good).

Have to run - taking a walk at lunch, clouds be darned. Feel better, Lori - I'll compare notes with you next weekend. My sister is suffering from your cold, too. No doubt the little ones will be down with it by Sunday, and DH and I will probably get hit with it after our visit over there tomorrow. Ah, family!

Well, I got him to bring me a can of sparkling water to bed last night so I didn't have to get up and get chills all over again.

The Frug? The Frugal Gourmet, of course! Jeff Smith. He recently passed away. Heart disease I believe. All of that good food!
