Monday Madness, the beginning!

Well today for me is what I am sure will be the first day of a crazy week. Mondays are normally crazy with trying to get back into the swing. How about you? Are you refreshed from your weekend off or are you in need of another day of rest? Did you work just as hard over the weekend with your home and family as you do at your "paying" job?

You all know my answer to that. We shopped yesterday morning at Lowes and bought "everything" to finish that bathroom. Spent over $500.00 and came home and started. Bill hung a new mirror, cabinet, towel rod, TP holder, new light, hand towel rack, and then the man got on his hands and knees and scrubbed the old bowl, floor, and counter. Looks great! The only thing left is for me to buy a new shower curtain. We started yesterday at 8 and worked until 10:30.

Today, after work I have another dress fitting. Then when the kids get home, its off to the mall for a suit for Robbie. Something is written down on the calender for everyday and unfortunatly going a exercise routine might not fit in. But that is alright, next week when all this hoopla calms down I will start again.

So what is on your calendar for the upcoming week?

Good Morning,

Deb, you do sound like you have a full week ahead of you-hope it's smooth sailing!

Another fall like day here and it's beautiful! Another fitful night of sleep-don't know whether it's because DH is not here (which is just wierd feeling) or whether I'm just back in the pattern of not being able to sleep. He was to begin his seminars last night so I'm eager to hear all about this. It's back to the paying job today and after getting out early Thursday and Friday I will have to acclimate myself back to the 5PM hour! DS starts back at school today to begin the airconditioning and refrigeration portion of his training. DS was always a very good son and mowed what purports to be our front lawn although I'm convinced it consists of green weeds-very fast growing green weeds and put out the garbage for his mama! Repayment for all of his freshly washed and dryed clean clothes! At the risk of repeating myself-I'm still waiting for my test results-now it's both the blood work and the results of the sonogram. Patience-something that's rapidly being depleted from my system!

Better get a move on and start getting ready for work! Hope your Monday madness goes well!

Lori, I hope you feel better as the day goes on. I think it was in yesterday's magazine section of the paper where there was an article that employers actually make more

It's a drizzly, gray day here -- the kind that makes me want to crawl back into bed. Glad I got the yardwork and driveway done over the weekend while it was still dry.

I had posted last night, but lost it. My mouse is doing crazy things. Just didn't have it in me at the time to re-do it. Rob, his friend, and I were back at the beach bright and early yesterday. Boy, what a difference a day makes! It was very windy, ocean was very rough, and it looked as though someone had put tons of bubble bath in the water to make huge patches of white foam blowing ashore. For much of the time, I looked like I had white, furry houseslippers on when I was out of the water. I stepped on a dead puffer fish that had washed into the shallow, but didn't see him

I've been having trouble sleeping the last few days too, and when I do, I have the weirdest dreams. Do you have weird dreams?

Best of luck with your tests. Hope you get the results soon. Waiting is so agonizing.

Good Monday morning!

Back to the grind. It's a fairly easy grind for another couple of weeks, then the dam is going to start cracking.

I am now clothed and shod for all the upcoming Fall festivities. I like everything I have; with three occasions coming within weeks of each other, I feel like I've already made back my investment. The dress and shoes are timeless styles, and I hope I'll be able to stay in good enough shape to wear it all again at some future time.

Back to the workout grind again, too. I've still got that headache today that I complained about yesterday, but I'm determined to fight through the fog and get to exercising tonight. I had gone to the grocery store before the football game yesterday (Why, oh why, do I food shop on Sunday afternoons? It's chaos there; too many "Sunday shoppers", whose shopping skills are as weak as those of "Sunday drivers"!) and bought plenty of healthy protein that I haven't put into the freezer yet, so there's no excuse for not eating healthy tonight. Anyone notice a shortage of fresh broccoli? On each of my last three trips to the store, the broccoli has been almost sold out. Wonder if the hurrican triplets are finally having an effect on the availability of produce up here.

Even though I was unusually quiet during the Patriots football game, I enjoyed it and was happy they won. They finally have a strong running back to take some of the pressure off Tom Brady and the receivers; can't remember if they've had a back in recent years run for more than 150 yards in a game. Looks like it's going to be another fun year. Mary, sorry to see the Niners go down in defeat. They were my favorite team for many years when watching the then-laughing-stock Patriots would reduce an optimist to tears!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hey Rhonda...the sleep disturbances and weird (I call them marathon dreams because they last so long) dreams are symptoms of perimenopause. I had the dreams constantly for years. I still get them, but not as often and the sleep disturbances...well...they haven't gone away. The weird thing about that is I am not any more tired because of them.

They are also dangerous. I watch the shopping channels in the middle of the night, which can be expensive and I catch up on Fox news, which is good to stay current.

Donna, sure hope your headache goes away soon. The kind of weather we're having today is perfect to create a sinus headache. Luckily, I haven't been out in it yet.

Happy to hear your Patriots won. I was so mad about the FL-TN game I haven't been able to see straight! Two bad calls by the officials in the last couple of minutes basically cost the Gators the game. I've said all along that when the TN guy slapped the FL guy in the face mask and the FL guy slapped back, it should have been off-setting penalties with no loss of yardage. Finally, today in the paper, the officials admitted the same thing. Also, the game clock wasn't restarted when it should have been. Nice to admit it, but the damage has been done. Miraculously, the Jaquars beat the Broncos. I didn't watch the game, because I'm not terribly into pro ball. If they have a decent team this year, I just may have to watch a few.

I haven't noticed about broccoli lately. I know the citrus crop was hit hard (I lost only 6 tangelos though, because my tree is fairly protected), and cotton, peanuts, and pecans have been hurt too. FL grows lots of tomatoes, potatoes, house plants, watermelons, and other produce, but I haven't heard much about those except damage to ferns.

Enjoy your work lull while you can.

Rhonda

Welcome back! Sounds as though you had a great time. Unfortunately, all that stuff to do will still be there when you get back, so you're probably wise to just head out to Jazzercise and get your batteries recharged.
