EVENTS, NEWS AND SPECIAL DEALS FROM ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA - SEPTEMBER 22, 2004

ASHEVILLE: THE PLACE TO SEE NATURE'S COLORFUL BOUNTY
Even though recent storms downed trees in the mountains of Western North Carolina, the weather occurred early enough in the season to have a minimal impact on leaves, according to leaf experts. Thanks to a broad range of elevations that extend from 2,200 feet in the valleys to 6,684 feet at Mount Mitchell, fall always plays an extended engagement in the Asheville area. Higher elevations surrounding Asheville show best color early in the season, and the fiery hues cascade down the slopes through October and sometimes even into November.

BILTMORE VILLAGE GETTING BACK TO BUSINESS
Biltmore Village is recovering from flooding brought about by recent storms. Like Biltmore Estate, which never closed during the storms, several Village shops are drying off their welcome mats and reopening their doors. Ever After, Fireside Antiques & Interiors, The Gardener's Cottage, New Morning Gallery, Once Upon a Time, Recollections, Village Galleries, and Yarn Paradise are back in business, while several other shops and restaurants work diligently to reopen in the coming days and weeks.

Now, with the crazy path Jeanne is taking (looks like a skywriter on the weather maps!!!!), it's possible we could get hit here. Just when we thought we were in the clear...
I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone too. Should be great fun. I told Grace I can visualize at least one late-nighter with all of us piled in one room like a PJ party! LOL!
