Good morning! I was browsing around the village this morning and and read a post that said" you know you live in 2004 when you go to the computer before you get your coffee".LOL I usually grab my tea and then head to the boards.Amazing how our friends on the boards become such a part of our lives.I find myself watching the weather in different areas to see what each person is dealing with.Thinking of you guys in Florida today, Rhonda.
So is Sunday your day of rest?Years ago we used to run the birds on 24 hrs of continuous light. Then we began to notice they didn't grow as well and were more vulnerable to stress. Now we give them various times of darkness depending on their age and other factors. What a difference it makes. We often forget just how important rest really is.We need that time to allow our bodies to relax and repair from the daily stresses. It doesn't always have to be actual sleep either. How good do you feel if you make time to stop and enjoy a cup of tea, a good book, quiet devotional time,

Speaking of tea, I bought a nice (1/2 price, too) book and cd on Tea traditions and recipes for scones, etc. from famous hotels and tea establishments in England, Scotland, Ireland and the states. Makes me wish I could take time out at least once a week to take tea with friends. That would be so much fun! If you get a chance, you really should start up your own Pink Hatters Club, Princess. I had a great time at the Red Hat Society chapter of mine, Chattie Hatties. I am the only Pink Hatter there, but it was still fun and relaxing to have tea, eat lunch, and chat with the ladies.
Hope the hurricane doesn't do too much damage - will keep you in my prayers, Rhonda!
Hope you all have a blessed Sunday.

I was reminded all too well how precious rest is. My DH lost his father this week. Very tough waiting in hospital 3 days for the inevitable but not wanting to leave in case he woke up. My whole plan to start weight watchers seemed so insignificant. I know that life goes on and we will just have to begin each day again. I like the idea of sipping tea with friends and enjoying each other. My DFIL always loved a good chat. I am rambling with this post I know, just need some rest. Thank you for the glimpse back into day to day life.

Good morning! Tim has gone to pick up Rob and Bryan from the birthday/slumber party, because the winds are supposed to be up to 50 mph by 10 AM. It's overcast and gusty here, but will get progressively worse as the day goes on. Figured I'd better post while I still have electricity and internet. Also, getting some laundry done. We're bringing in anything that could become a missle, including my Bush/Cheney '04 sign. If I could direct it, I might leave it out! ;-) I had on my bright red
