Good morning everyone!Did you all know there are only 14 Tuesdays left in the year?Hard to believe , isn't it!
I was reading this morning about something called F.I.T.It is a way to develope a good weight workout.F is for frequency. How often you lift weights depends on your schedule, what you need. The I is for intensity. You need to lift a weight heavy enough to work the muscle. When say 8 pounds becomes an easy weight to lift it's time to increase your weight.T is for the amount of time your program takes to complete and how much time you have to put into it.To make this a successful program you have to adapt it to what you need, what you can do and what you're willing to put into it to make it a success.Apparently lifting weights is like that whole life thing, what you put into it detemines what you'll get out of it.
I have really fallen off my weight program but I'm thinking if I take these last 14 Tuesdays and work at it I can see a difference by the first Tuesday of the new year.
So what's planned for today?New workout plans or sticking with the tried and true?Anyone journaling your food or exercise?Any 15minute projects going?
Susan, thinking of you has you have a test done today.Rhonda, guessing you are without power and hope it comes back soon.
Hope you all have a totally terrific Tuesday!

Well Patti, 14 Tuesdays does not sound like alot. Not sure if I really wanted to know that info......lol. Your F.I.T. sounds good and something to remember. I dug out my WW journel and started to write again after taking this past weekend off. Its amazing how much we do eat or make ourselves aware of how much when we write the stuff down. No major project planned here. Maybe taking out the Halloween decorations and maybe time to start sorting through the summer clothes. Work until 1 and then hope to head home and do my tape. Thats all I have planned at the moment.
Alice was looking for Cuss, and she is right........where is she? Rhonda, hope you are all safe and together. Susan, lots of luck with your testing.

Excellent thoughts again Patty to start the morning! Thanks for your good wishes for today-this whole thing is shaking my nerves because I know they're trying to figure out one problem and another one is right behind it.
Today is DS 19th birthday. So hard to believe my "little" guy is 19 and stands at 6"3" tall. He was born the day after Hurricane Gloria hit NY and he became part of an overflowing and overwhelmed maternity ward with many like myself having had due dates in October.
Nothing much on my agenda today. I'll be working until about 1:30 then going to have this test done and then home. Last time I had to have one of these done I didn't feel too great afterwards so it will be a quiet afternoon-whatever is left of it by the time I get home.
It's very humid here today and they're talking lots of rain this afternoon as the remnants of Jeanne pass through. Thinking of you southern girls and hope everything is Ok with all of you.
Hope everyone enjoys a good day.
Susan
Booty, I think it takes so much courage to post this. And you are so right that we will listen without judgement. You know that we will be here to listen to care and to help in any way we can.So please don't hesitate to let us know

Jeanne's leftovers have started - buckets fall every few minutes, then it gets quiet, then it starts up again. Predictions are for only about .2 inches within 15-20 miles of downtown Boston, so with luck, we can get to that before noon and see some sunshine later. Temperatures are expected to drop considerably by tomorrow. Yippee!
I'll be back on track with workouts tonight - a 30-min treadmill trot (mostly walking, truly unimpressive trotting), all-over weights, and abs. Dinner last night I'm happy to say was healthy and filling; it sure was better than the big bag of Chee-tohs I had for lunch (I also had fat-free yogurt, so I figured they cancelled each other... and I've never been good at figuring, so...). Hoping to continue the trend with no Chee-toh bumps in the road for the rest of the week.
I e-mailed Cussette last night from home - no response yet. I'm hoping she's just up to her ears in buckets of paint and that the family is safe. I heard mention of tornadoes in SC and NC in the news last evening. Hope none have affected her or her MIL. Praying for several of my family members, too - my cousin, his two daughters and their families live down there, too, and we're waiting to hear from them through the family grapevine.
Hope you all have a productive and manageable day!

Who says you have to behave a certain way to be cl? All any of us is trying to do is our personal best - and sometimes the messages from "out there" about female form perfection get to us and we'll try just about anything to achieve it, knowing in our rational minds that we just might be doing more harm to ourselves over time. Look what you put yourself through with those punishing workouts before you realized that you can achieve a healthy level of fitness with gentler exercise. You've turned a corner by telling us what's going on, and I know it will lead you to change this truly risky approach to weight control.
All any of us has any right to expect is that we each come here with an open heart; and by opening up, you sure demonstrated one of the most open hearts on this board! If confession is indeed good for the soul, you unloaded a big burden here, and there are many shoulders happy to help you carry it. I'd hardly call what you did whining. It's important for you to get the emotion of it out there and start dealing with it. And I think at some point in the very near future you'll be able to explain it to Jeff and he'll come through for you as he always does. I think Scientist Lori is taking over, and that has to be a good thing, right?
Hugs and more hugs to you,
Donna
Great stuff Patty---14 Tuesdays left, I better make them count.
Had my coffee and Cereal Bar (again, not knowing if that is the healthiest choice).
I'm new here. DH and I just started the 'Fat to Muscle' diet yesterday. I've done it twice in the past 20 years, and I really like it.
I don't have a lot to lose, maybe five pounds. I just don't like being so flabby.
Tonight we're going to swim together after work. We don't do a 'hard' workout, just kind of go to one end and talk, then go to the other end and talk, usually for about 25 minutes. Today we can stay longer, because I don't have any dance lessons to teach tonight (second job).

Then went to the gym and did 1/2 hour on the elliptical. It wasn't the workout I planned but it was better than nothing. I had to cut the workout short since I had a contact follow up visit. I ordered the contacts and new glasses and $525 later, I will have them in about a week. I sure am high maintenance!! Good thing I get to workout for nothing.
Tomorrow is the podiatrist again. I think foot is progressing, but will find out more then.
Trying to decide how to make the ground white turkey meat I took out dinner. It will either be chile or taco meat for salad. Also have a bunch of broccoli rabe to make.
Have a good Tuesday all....
