Oh, Lori. I wasn't around much yesterday, and just caught up on your post and all the responses. I echo what the other ladies here have said. No, you're not an idiot or a fool, but much stronger than you think, coming forward with this - not many are able to. There's no shame in confessing, and my gosh, you need the support. When you're ready, I think you'll be able to tell Jeff, and I pray that he's supportive and understanding when you do.

Don't think you have to be a certain way to be a CL. If we had to be exemplary perfect people, iVillage wouldn't *have* any CLs. Those are standards nobody can reach.

We're here for you every step of the way, Lori. Would you consider a local support group as well? They might have resources to help you.

It's heartening to hear you're feeling better. I just feel so bad that you suffered in silence for so long thinking you had to go it alone. Often many of us do that for fear people will think less of us. At least now besides hope you know you also have *acceptance* and friends who care about you and want to help however possible no matter what.

Hugs,

Rhonda

Lori, hugs right back at you. Remember to just take things one day at a time. Give yourself a chance to adjust and work things through. The important thing is you not beat yourself up and know "WE ALL" are here for you, 24/7!

Lori sending you a huge bear hug. I am so glad you are feeling better about you belimia (it is a hard word to swollow). A local support group might be a good idea. My 2nd ex-husband is a recovering alcoholic and I used to go to AA meetings with him. You get a lot of good advice and suggestions for dealing with life in those type of meetings. One of the things that sticks with me is "Baby Steps", actually the lady said she was putting one foot in front of the other focusing on what needs to be done next and not worrying about tomorrow. I tagged it "Baby Steps" because it is shorter and easier to remember.

You can get through this Lori, you are strong and are on the right track. The 1st three steps in AA are something to the effect of: (It has been a long time since I've been to a meeting but this is pretty close and I've been told used in all types of support groups)

1) Admitting to being powerless of the addiction

2) Came to believe that a power greater than ourself can restore us to sanity

3) Made the decission to turn our will and life over to a power greater than ourself

I hope this helps some. I really do enjoy hearing from you. I hope things get better for you. The only perfect person that I know died on a cross almost 2000 years ago. You are a wonderful person and have a lot of good advice that you share with all of us.

My prayers go out to you,
