PS: Proud to say that the happy couple are still on cloud nine from last week.

Thanks Patty.
Mary here in Northern California.

Putting on a happy face this morning despite the rude awakening. I know the town's noise ordinance allows it, but did our neighbor's tree service REALLY have to fire up the truck at exactly 8 am? That's one heck of an alarm clock. They're still at it - I didn't think the tree was THAT big. Should be a fun morning...
It's definitely fall here. It's getting cooler and cooler in the evenings; the heat turned on yesterday on its own, so that's the sure sign. So are the red and gold leaves on the ground and over head. Pretty!
Going to go finish the laundry and drag out the ironing board. We're wedding guests this evening and we're going to be all sharped up. It's cloudy with rain forecast, but I'm hoping it holds out until the reception is well under way. The bride had been trying to find the pink-and-white M&Ms for her wedding favors, but was unsuccessful as of earlier this week.
Welcome back from vacation, Phyllis!
Have a great day, everyone!

I think I am going to take a day off from exercise today. The five days in a row caught up to me last night after taking 5 1/2 weeks off. I am going to meet a friend tomorrow at a local gym to take a free Jazzercise class. I took one yesterday at a different center because they had open house. Well...let's put it this way, the instructor and music was good but I need a little more of a workout. I don't really enjoy stopping after each song/routine. I felt like I was just getting into it and then it was over. But, I am anxious to try again tomorrow and see if it is better. I need to do something different for awhile to get back into fighting form and I was hoping Jazzercise was going to do since I will only be subbing classes from now on.
The only plans today is to go househunting with DD again. Oh, I didn't tell you that the house they were going to buy fell through...the owners decided not to sell when they saw the prices of the houses they were interested in. Oh, well...back to square one and houses have gone up even more as well as the mortgage rate.
So...that is my big weekend. Anything more exciting with the rest of you?
Hugs

Well, I've settled on colors, wallpaper and drapery for the dining room.
Striped country wallpaper in cream-blue-burgundy up to the chair rail (the brown horizontal "stripe" in the JPEG), 3 walls a similar cream color, one accent wall which I'll probably color wash to tie into the china cabinet on one of the other walls. The palette will work with the living room (connected to the DR), which has lots of blue and less of the same sort of reds. I *might* do some stenciling in the living room, which is what the heart/vine pattern is at the top of this JPEG. What surprised me most was the drapery fabric I've settled on - toile. I was trying to find fabric with a small print, country pattern. Most fabrics available have big floral patterns on them (so not me!), are way too formal for my style, have too much green/no blue, etc. I don't think a plaid would've worked with the wallpaper, either, and I couldn't find a suitable color anyway. I don't actually care for toiles, and hadn't considered using one, but no fabrics stood out saying "I'm it". So I widened my scope and found a toile at a local retailer that jumped out (same colors as the one shown but the same scene). Better still, at another fabric store I found a blue-based toile of the same print that I can use in the living room, which is what I was hoping to find.
I've ordered the wallpaper. I need to peg down a window treatment next, and will probably get the paint in the next week. I'm really anxious to get started, though it'll be after getting back from Asheville.

Your day sounds busy to me. I guess you and Katie can have some quality time together. Good for you for staying on program with the exercise and healthy eating. So far I am likeing the WW core plan.
I am reading the House of Sand and Fog now. I like it so far. I rather read the book than see the movie.
Have a nice day. Sounds like yoiu have a full one planned.

Got up for an early morning walk. I changed back to my old route and ended up walking about 3.5 miles. There was no pounding head afterwards and I really think this other medication was the culprit. I'm really hoping I can stay off a second one, but in case it doesn't work out that a substitute can be found that doesn't cause the same problems. Came in the door this morning with a craving for cantalope. Don't know why and it's a good thing I purchased one last night-so while DH was cooking breakfast I was cutting up the cantalope and I wasn't disappointed it was delicious! Already have dinner simmering away in my crockpot. I'm making a pot roast. Threw together ingredients from three different recipies and gearing up my bread machine too! Definitely in the mood for some fall type cooking. They are calling for rain today-hope it clears out for tomorrows' 10K! Going out with oldest DD later for some new makeup and clean socks and maybe some new underwear-that way I won't have to wash for Asheville :)! Asheville came up over the breakfast table this morning and when I mentioned I would be there 2 weeks from today-DS looked at me and asked me who was going to do his laundry-he did have a goofy grin on his face when he said it! It will be interesting to see how they fend for themselves!
Phyllis glad you and Johnny had a nice vacation.
Donna you and DH have a wonderful time this evening.
LI Deb have fun girl time with Katie. I also read The House of Sand and Fog-haven't seen the movie.
Mary-keep your chin up. You're doing such good things for yourself-don't let nasty people get you down. Happy Birthday to your son and enjoy your day with him!
Patty-thanks for the reminder to all of us about our annual mammos-actually have mine Tuesday. Took 3 months to get an appointment but I'll be there!
Hope you all have a really great day!
Susan
I am salivating over the "last supper" you are going to have. Can I come over?? I have to stop thinking about food!
Enjoy your time with DH.
