Good morning everyone!I'm so tempted to mention again how many Tuesdays are left in the year but since some felt that was more than they wanted to know, I'll refrain.Maybe I'll wait til we get down to single digits ;)

Yesterday was a great day to work in CL, feed spill aside. It was sunny and just the right temp all day long. The chickens loved it.Have any of you ever seen chickens play?It is so cute!!They run and jump. And they do that thing football players do when they come up and bang their chests together.I'm wondering when

Good morning-

I think it would be more likely that the football players learned it from the chickens!

Just coming out of a slump for me.

Good Morning,

Patty, how well you can relate the things you read or things in everyday life or your everyday life and relate them to each and every one of us.

There is definitely a chill in the air this morning. I went out to put a few items in the recycling and definitely know I need to find some kind of coat to wear this morning-now where was that safe place I put all that stuff?

Today is mammo day after work-so looking forward to that-but you gotta do what you gotta do. Otherwise just your ordinary run of the mill work day.

It is amazing how animals play. Taking Otto on his walk last night he loves to meet up with his canine friends. He has one in particular a rather young and very spirited Dalamtion who we met up with last night. After there usual lets sniff each other and get reaquainted Otto-who never barks except when there's a treat involved-would bark once at this dog and the dog would run around in circles around his owner. He would stop, Otto would bark again and the other dog would do it again. It was really funny to watch-you have to wonder what goes through their minds!

I have no idea what time I'll get home from this appointment today so walking the dog may be the workout dujour. I feel like I'm coming out of this eternal slump I've seem to be in. Food choices have been good ones and feeling like exercise is again something to look forward to rather than just another chore that I should do.

Hope you all have a Terrific Tuesday!

Good morning!

Patty, your post is inspiring, as usual. It reflects the philosophy of the article on gratitude in the new Prevention magazine - turn a negative into a positive, appreciate and be grateful for the opportunity granted by a new day, and move on.

I'm feeling terrific this morning. That workout high that I've never experienced before I'm feeling today, 10 hours later. I was thrilled with the way yesterday's went. I'm going to carry that over tonight with an equally good UB workout, with cardio and with more ab work because I can! Same with the eating - I had a good Sunday, a better Monday, and I'm going to have an even better Tuesday.

I think the weather is helping me. It's a beautiful fall day here - 50s, brilliantly sunny, and breezy. I was expecting to have to scrape frost off the windshield this morning, but it was totally clear and dry. It wasn't so cold that I couldn't put on my White Mountain sandals, though! Overnight tonight is supposed to get into the mid 30s, so I'm going to have that scraper handy for the morning. Good workout for my arms.

Speaking of arms. This morning while eating breakfast I switched TV on and ran by HSN. I can't believe that someone actually came up with a foundation garment - for your arms! It looks like a racer-back sports bra, with sleeves to hold in those batwings. A power panty for your arms. What next?

Susan - thanks for the recipe. DH is asking for "fall" meals and that one sounds like a great candidate.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Laughing at the image of chickens bumping each other in the chest! Relating it to football players brings it to life.

Rejoicing and thanking God first of all. Dan had his follow up appointment with the doc yesterday. Biopsy on the lump removed from his lymph nodes was negative - nothing to worry about. Apparently, he'd had some kind of infection at some point, and a part of it got lodged in the lymph nodes in his neck, and that's all it was (lymph system carries the fluids that help fight illnesses). Dan was in much lighter spirits yesterday evening. I'd been taking it one day at a time in faith, yet was still surprise at how hearing the results just lifted a cloud away. Though it *almost* goes without saying, I'll say it anyway: we are extremely relieved. Thank you all for your prayers.

Ready to take on Tuesday here. I finally hit the weights last night, using 5-8 pounds for most of it, and some 10. I'm a bit sore this morning, but last night it felt so great! This morning it's in the upper 50s, yippee!, and I'm getting ready to hit the pavement. Lunch with Allison this morning at 10:45. She's buying lunch at school today for the first time, usually taking her lunch and is absolutely overjoyed about it. It's funny what gets kids pumped!

Phyllis, hugs. We all seem to go through slumps, motivational, spiritual... general. Offering prayers that the Lord strengthens you and that you lean on Him. In the big picture, He's the only thing that's constant.

Nancy, I can so relate to those same disappearing and recurring pounds! I've got 3-5 that tease me. I've decided to use them as an overall barometer rather than consider them yo-yo pounds. When they visit, it means that it's time for me to re-evaluate my eating and exercise; when they go because I've made some changes, great. But I'm no longer kidding myself that I'll keep 'em off!

Susan, good luck on the mammo. Getting squished between two cold metal plates... nice way to end a day, NOT! But you're right, you do what you gotta do.

Check ya later, chicks!

Phyllis, hoping your well fills itself up again soon. I think military families are amazing; you all deserve so much gratitude for what you do and how much you sacrifice.

Hugs,

Donna
