We recently talked to David Kirsch, author of Sound Mind, Sound Body and trainer to Liv Tyler, Naomi Campbell and Heidi Klum. The shocker? Forget everything you thought you knew about stars working out all day long. David says, "The reality is that no one has the time to do a two-hour workout. Not Naomi, not Heidi, not Liv. And even if they did, they wouldn't have the inclination to do it."
His timesaving tips:
1. "Have a sense of what it is you're trying to accomplish. With a plan, you're going to be more efficient."
2. "You wouldn't turn on the car without gas. It's the same with your body. The more frequently you eat, the more intelligently you eat, the more your body will work at an optimal level, burning fat for fuel."
3. "Good form and technique are so important. Without that, you're wasting time, not getting any benefit and, even worse, potentially injuring yourself. Once you have a good foundation, you may be able to work out less often because you find you're so much more efficient once you're doing it correctly."
