Good Morning,

Winter has officially returned to LI. Temperatures in the teens and the wind chill factor bringing it pretty close to 0. The sun is shining though and the sky is blue. I must remember to remote start the car so it's not quite as chilly in the interior as it is on the exterior.

I'm officially throwing my scale out the window with Patty. I'm up by 1.5 lbs. Maybe we can have a scale throwing party or maybe we'll give out prizes for who can throw it the farthest. That's exercise right? I also think Bob gave Otto a call yesterday during his time out. Otto took my hat and was not about to give it back. He thought it was quite the toy! Fortunately it was the hat that already had a hole in it from the last time he stole it.

I will say I was a bit discouraged by the scale this morning but I did return to the basement for my workout this morning. I needed to take a break from the treadmill since I was feeling the effects of yesterday's workout. I pulled out a Prevention Walk It Slim tape that I haven't done in a long time. Think I'll be wearing the big yellow ski jacket again tonight for our after dinner walk.

Turkey burgers are on the menu for this evening along with a carrot and raisin salad from Cooking Light. Some strange flavors blended together in this salad so I'm going to be interested in how it tastes. It's "cooking" in the refrigerator as we speak.

Better get moving and ready for the workday ahead. Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

I posted last night, but my computer wouldn't let it get picked up, like the network wasn't responding. Something is going on with AOL or Comcast or whatever. I had to get in through Yahoo this morning, and it's still slow going. Hope I don't lose this too.

I got the light auburn and gold highlights yesterday (caramelizing) finally and like them a lot. Took a quick trip by Tim's office to show him, and he said he liked them a lot too. I hope he means it. He usually tells me what he thinks I want to hear, which I keep telling him not to do. If I ask for his opinion, I really want it.

After doing better for a while, he woke up with flu-like symptoms and went back to bed to see if more rest will help. Hope it does and that it's not contagious.

It's definitely cooler here, very windy, and rain is expected, but I see the lows for the week have been changed to 40's and 50's, which is OK by me. I'd hoped to get in the yard and finish getting up the leaves and spreading them around shrubs after taking yesterday off, but it doesn't appear the weather's going to cooperate.

Last night I ordered some full spectrum light bulbs from Dr. Mercola's web site to see if they will help with less sunlight during the winter. They're not inexpensive, but are guaranteed for a year and are supposed to use 20% of the electricity that a regular incandescent bulb does.

I'm still wearing the magnet on the back of my neck, because since I did the yardwork, I feel some numbness down my arm and hand when I take it off.

I had written messages to address several of your posts last night and now I can't remember them. Sorry I have such a poor short term memory.

I do hope everyone is feeling good today (Lori, take your meds and get some rest, so you can get well.) and staying warm. Patty, you may have gained weight, but Bob has probably lost. ;-) It would be interesting if you'd weighed him before and after. Are you sure you didn't just eat something with a lot of salt, so you're holding more fluid or something like that? As active as you are, I can't imagine that you've actually gained real weight.

Lori at our old house we had a back bathroom that was off the den and garage and well it was the last room to get heat and the back wall was against the back of the house (got no sun) well that water line would freeze from time to time and the only way to stop that was to let the water drip. We would just let it drip slightly during the extreme cold days. Not sure if that helps but just thought I would share. Stay warm! Now that tight chest and cough...well maybe you should lay off the water/pool while you are not feeling well and it is so frigid out there by you. Stay warm!!! and watch yourself.

At least you've visited the scale.

It is still officially morning somewhere in the United States so I could possibly say good morning but since it is past noon here, I guess I won't.
