I never did my Friday check in or my Saturday morning check in.........although I did read most of the board this morning. Last night was a great night for Katie. We had a great time and we ate way too much food. I paid for it last night and this morning. I know I used all my 35 flex points and then some. But today was back on program. Katie helped me clean around the house and get some laundry done then we headed to the barn for a lesson. It was not preplaned but last night she asked. So from the barn we got home and I made some spagetti squash for dinner (me) and ravioli (Katie and Megan) with a pot of sauce. We should be eatting in about 5 minutes. Katie has her friend Megan sleeping over. Bill is still working up the street at the shop and the girls will hang out together while I meet up with my sisters to go to the movies. We are going to Pursut to Happiness. That is the extent of my fun for tonight. Hope everyone has a nice night. Oh my weather............cold, plain and simple cold. At least we are dry but it feels like snow.
Hi everyone! I spent the day with my sister and two girl friends from high school. We had such a blast. We had lunch at Red, Hot and Blue. Ok, when even the waitress's eyes get big when you order dessert you know your table has had a lot of food!! They brought us a slice of chocolate c*k* that was huge!! And it came with 2 scoops of
We had a really nice day. The weather was cold but nothing like yesterday. I don't think we could have done the walk from Penn Station to the theater district with a day like yesterday. We took a 12:00 train into NYC and then walked from 34th St down to 50th St where the theater is located. Fortunately they had the lobby open so we were able to wait inside until they opened the doors. Mama Mia was wonderful. The music is great and so interesting that they based the play around the Abba songs. It was such an energizing play and a lot of fun! The cast was great and can't say enough about the voices and the music. Pure fun!
Walked back to Penn and fortunately there was a train departing within 5 minutes of us getting to the station. We stopped home to pick up our gift card and off to eat. We ate in a small Italian restaurant by our house that DD's BF had given us a gift certficate. It's a very small place and looks like a little house from the outside and their food is excellent. All I have to say is that we hadn't eaten since breakfast and we were both starved. We were served with a bread basket and some amazing pesto and we dug right in! We both had fresh mozzerella, tomato and basil salad. We easily could have split one portion but we didn't! DH had veal parmesan with spagetti in marinara sauce and I had porcini stuffed ravioli with marinara sauce. They make their own ravioli and it is delicious! There were no leftovers to bring home! I wasn't going to have dessert but I went ahead and splurged. I had tortoni which is a vanilla ice cream with toasted almond on the top and a toasted almond crust in the bottom which tasted like it was sprinkle perhaps with amaretta. DH had a raspberry cheesecake with a ladyfinger crust. All their desserts are made on premises and again- Delicious! So yes, both of us feel in a bit of a food coma. We seldom go out to dinner and just decided to go ahead and really enjoy the dinner out.
We've both been vegging out since our return home and I really hope I sleep past the 4:15 human body wake up call tomorrow!
Well...let me see. I've been working most of the afternoon/evening (not what you want to be doing on a Sat.), hence me being able to read everyone's posts and "catch up" a bit.
I had wonderful news this morning when I got up and stepped on the scales. I've finally gotten out of the 190's AND 180's...I've LOST 12 LBS AND I AM DOWN TO 178!!! I couldn't believe it. I knew I had lost weight but not more than 10 lbs. I NEVER thought I would actually be excited about being 178 lbs but I am today. I'm sure most of it is fluid loss (I have been running to the bathroom non-stop since the beginning of the month) but I'll take it no matter what it is...hehehe. One of my co-workers made a comment this week that I am wearing out a path from my desk to the ladies room I've been running so much...lol!
Anyway, when I began getting "fit" again this month, I had decided to break the weight loss down by setting seperate goals, 10% of my total weight for each goal. That way I won't feel like I have SO many more lbs to go and I'll have more wins along the way. My first goal was 19 lbs so I only have 7 lbs to go before I hit my first mark...YEEE HAWWWW!! For anyone who has ever been a runner, it's kind of like how you begin adding miles to your run. By being able to see your mark ahead, it's easier to attain...once you get to the mark, you pick a new one.
Next month I should stabalize and start losing 2 lbs a week (normal/healthy weight loss). I'd like to be able to hit my first goal by the end of next month but that's probably pushing it.
Have a great weekend everyone!!! Hubby and I are going to finally see Borak this weekend. We've both been working crazy this month, it's time for us to take a break!
