Thursday Toss Your Hat In The Ring

I don't know...I just couldn't come up with anything else...it just hit me because it seems like the only one who hasn't thrown his hat into the Presidential ring is Oprah.

Had a great day.
We're under a tornado watch until 1:00 AM. Of course, I didn't find out about it till I was on a trip to the video store and grocery store!! Kind of unnerving. It's raining pretty hard, and very hard at times, with lightning and thunder as though it's summer. We did make it to the mid-70's today. I think we will be around 70 again tomorrow, with more rain in the AM, then drop some on Saturday.
I'm trying a new recipe tonight for a pork type of chili. I'll let you know how it turns out. Started late, since Tim had his speaking engagements and decided he should go back to the office, because he had a brainstorm about how to solve a problem that's been lingering for a few days. Rob took a nap and is just finishing his bath. We have no normal schedule around here. I'm still disappointed about not getting to hear him speak, but there will be next time...
I got some errands done -- the post office to send Claudea's and Andie's Jibbitz and Claudea's birthday stuff to her, Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, and the car wash where I also vacuumed the interior of the car as it started raining. I found a gold ring with little red, white, and green stones in it, like a children's or grandchildren's birthstone ring, on the ground and turned it in at the office there. Sure hope they hang on to it in case the owner calls about it.

A pretty quiet day here. The snow never made it here and hopefully the icy mixture won't either. Bob loves to

Pretty much same type of day I've had all week-exhausting and mentally challenging. So much frustration but I think it's slowly coming to the end of it. My boss is impressed I haven't used any "bad" words. I told him he can't read my mind! As the data gets put in it will start to speed up my job it's just very slow going.
I came home in a mood and I had to bite my tounge real hard this evening or I would have said things that would have come out the wrong way. It took a walk with Otto to calm my mood down.
I've cleaned up for the night and ready to settle in for the evening.
Karen-my sympathies on the contractor issue. We've had our share of electricians, plumbers and the list goes on of those who don't show up, don't return phone calls and on and on. We had one guy who was the absolute best-what a treasure-came when he was supposed to, called, cleaned up after himself unfortunately he had had enough of LI and moved! And did you say 50 boxes of GS cookies! Let me know when they arrive!
Sleep well ladies!

Thanks, Patty! Tim just called as he was on his way to the office and said the talks to the entrepreneurial group and the grad students went well, but they were very cut and dry, almost textbook type stuff, so it's just as well I didn't go. The one really good thing is it turns out the super award winner guy actually teaches the classes. He has 8 businesses in Rhode Island and one in Europe and has been doing business for probably 50 years. Tim said he thinks he's late 60's or so. The university brought him down to help revamp their program. I wonder if Sassy's nephew is in the business program there. Anyway, he's very interested in what Tim's doing and wants to buy him lunch at the University Club (very hotsy totsy) and get to know him better. Cool! Tim is excited about it, because he said he is a really neat guy.
Somehow I missed what the big project is that they're doing at the GH this year (or, more likely I've forgotten). Can you refresh my memory, please?
I want to meet Bob! :-) The little kitty my parents have taken in plays with everything like that. She has really taken to Dad, which is so good for him, especially since his other cat is very ill and may not live long. Mom laughs about the kitten every time she talks about her. I'll get to see her inside tomorrow.

Your dinner sounds simply delish!
I just wallowed in AF's visit today.

Trying to catch up again.
