Sorry I've been so scarce lately. I've been out a lot and once I get so far behind, it's kind of overwhelming to try to jump back into the middle of things.
Friday I was at Mom and Dad's all day, then got home in time to clean up, so Tim and I could go to dinner at Bonefish Grill. As always, dinner there was delicious. We made a quick trip to the mall afterwards, so I could get my watch battery replaced and found a really nice Liz Claiborne knit pullover shirt for him marked down 50 % off, then 40% off that! We could find only a camel color in his size, which we got. Drat! Came home and watched "Thank-you for Smoking", which actually turned out to be very good. We'd watched "Little Miss Sunshine" the night before, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The story started out very slowly and they used the F-word probably as much as in "Pulp Fiction". There was just no point in it. I think the little girl was the only one who didn't say it, but she was subjected to hearing it. The story did come together toward the end and got good.
Friday was Rob and his girl friend's 1 month "anniversary", and she broke up with him. He was pretty blue about it. She said her grades were suffering and she just didn't have time for a boy friend. I persuaded him to to go Orlando with me Saturday instead of moping in bed, which is the natural inclination at a time like that. We got to Erin and Joe's and Joe had Jackson in the living room. He did big smiles when he saw us. Erin was still in the shower, so we got to play with the baby a good while. She will never set any speed records... Finally, we went to Florida Mall and looked in a few places and got a few small items. The woman at the Estee Lauder counter at Saks wasn't in all weekend. She had done Erin's make-up and helped me with selections, so I'd really like to give her my business. It was Jackson's first trip to the mall. I could hardly believe it, because he's 4 months old. Rob's first trip was at 4 days. LOL!
We went by the house to pick up Joe and stopped at a place called Tropical Pollo for dinner. Got some good grilled chicken, yellow rice, and black beans. Yum! From there, we went to his aunt and uncle's house. It is very pretty. Both of them have traveled all over the world, and they were nice enough to show us all their treasures. The aunt is very funny, and the uncle is very laid back -- a nice balance.
Sunday, we went to church, then went to one of our favorite spots in Winter Park for brunch. One of Joe's ex-coworkers from Sea World was in town, so he had brunch with us. He is from Hawaii and lived in San Diego, but is now based in Orlando. Once he left Sea World he went with Southwest Airlines, so he travels a lot. He had a really good personality. Joe and his friend went to get one of his brothers to play golf, and the rest of us went back to the house. We packed up and left, so Erin could have some down time. She wanted us to stay, but Rob was planning to go to a concert, and I knew we wanted to make a couple of stops on the way back.
