Good Morning,
I haven't heard the forecast for this area. I only hope that it's not what upstate NY got and is still getting. The stories are frightening. But for today here on LI the sun is shining and the sky is blue and when I went out earlier to get the newspaper is was cold but seems like it's going to warm up.
What started out yesterday as a morning of straightening up in the basement and the afternoon spent cleaning up in the house actually turned into a full day in the basement. I emerged absolutely filthy but several trash bags and boxes later, moving the remaining pieces of furniture around and a good vaccuming you can actually see the floor down here. Several pieces of furniture were put into storage upstairs. Some of it I'm not happy about putting up there. The stuff should have been dealt with but can't convince DH about getting rid of it. I emptied out the drawers of the dresser which younger DD will have about a year to make a decision on whether she wants it or not. It was housing numerous games and puzzles. I told both girls they can go through the stuff and choose what they want to start their own collection since they both enjoy them. I have several boxes to go through but they are stored in one location and I can sort through them. Most of the stuff will probably be tossed but I didn't want to take the time and sit and go through it all. The objective was to get this place habitable and extend my work out space. Mission accomplished. I also cleaned out the storage side of my pantry closet. I found some really nasty stuff in there which I tossed and made up a nice box of stuff to give to my coworker's dd for her flea market which the proceeds she donates to American Cancer Care. I do believe DH was in the box and retrieved at least one item. By late yesterday afternoon I still had to put DS room back together since we had to take out all his clothes to put everything into the storage part of the closet. I was hoping DH would take care of that while I was out walking Otto but he was instead watching TV-whole other story involved in that one. We'll just say I've created monsters around here, pampered, spoiled and words just aren't going to fix the situation.
I was awake at 4 this morning and managed to go back to sleep until about 6:30. Since then I've been doing laundry. I know if I take the day to myself it's going to be in the back of my mind what needs to be done around here before heading back to work tomorrow. I have to head out to the grocery store in a little while but need to finish up my grocery list. I was too tired to think last night. I am going in for my manicure and then we'll see what the afternoon holds.
We never did have dinner last night. I was about ready to start and DH had disappeared to go "take five" and the next thing I heard was snoring so I ended up eating a bowl of cereal. I'm not sure what he had. So tonight will be the burgers that are unthawed from last night.
Otto and I will enjoy a walk in the sunshine this afternoon. He did survive his beauty day and came home smelling so nice! Not sure he appreciates that fact!
Time to head to the shower and get ready for the day ahead. Hope everyone has a supberb Sunday!
Susan

We got up around 8:30 and we had our quiet morning coffee/tea. We do look forward to this time. It is chilly out but not freezing so we are heading out in a few minutes. Rob has already left for the shop to finish his detailing job, Billy is still sleeping (ah to be 22 again........maybe not), Katie and I are dressed in our riding clothes and we are just waiting on Bill to finish up getting dressed. Bill, Katie and I are heading out for breakfast and then over to the barn to see Daniel. It has been over a month since Katie and I have been out there. They probley think we fell off the face of the earth. But it was way to cold to ride or visit. One of the perks of leasing a horse instead of owning. After our ride out east and our visit with Daniel we are going to stop and look at gas fireplace insterts for our den fireplace. We have been talking for over a year about replacing the wood with the gas. The wood is so much work and mess. The remote and instant start make the gas so appealing. Actually this season I have been burning candles in there. Just not the same. I have a leg of lamb for dinner tonight and we should be home so I can throw it into the oven around 2:30. Bill's folks are going to join us, nothing fancy just relax a little. I plan on keeping the dinner simple with the lamb, mushrooms, string beans, mashed potatos and rolls. No more cookies in the house for desert, lol. I told Bill tomorrow morning I will wake Rob for the first shower of the day and attempt to do my 30 minute tape while he gets done. After him will be Bill's turn, then mine, then Billy. I can make my bed, have my breakfast and dry my hair while Billy is getting done and leaves. I should be able to make it to work by 8:30. All depends upon if I turn the computer on. I might not so if you do not hear a morning post from me, you will know why. I will try and check in during my lunch break from the office. Well have a wonderful day everyone and I will get back later to check on you all.

Good morning... oops afternoon.... Been a little lazy this morning... I seem to be having a relapse in this cold... I either didn't get over it or I have a different strain going through my body now.. sneezing, itchy eyes and I'm about ready to go in for a nose transplant... ENOUGH ALREADY... sheesh... you would think with all the Airbourne and vitamins and Sudafed I have been taking I would have been protected... or perhaps I overdid the whole precautionary thing ... All I know is I feel YUCK... but my attiutde is fine... :)
Card Club was alright... I threw caution to the wind and just had a goofy ol' time.. Of course a little wine helped that along... I played pretty good and had fun...Got home around 12:30 and couldn't get to sleep and awoke at the usual time of 6:30

It is a beautiful day here … 50 degrees, windows are open and the curtains are fluttering in the breeze.
