It is a cold, windy and very icy day here on LI. The snowstorm quickly turned into an ice storm yesterday. The roads were big piles of frozen slop and made for interesting driving and once again made me thankful that I live so close to work.
I did however get to spend about 1/2 hour outside in the parking lot of work waiting for DH to arrive with a key for my car as I managed to start my car, get out of my car to unice it and as soon as I shut the door realized that I had forgotten to hit the unlock button. So there I was with my car running, purse on the front seat and no extra keys. I called DS since he works right near the house but he was out on a delivery. DD is still home sick so her truck was frozen solid and I didn't want her to come out. Fortunately DH works at the dealership was able to look up my info to program a new key for me and he arrived to rescue me. I was so Thankful that I wore an extra sweatshirt to work and had DS big yellow jacket to keep me warm. I didn't want to wait in the building as my car was running and my purse was wide open on the front seat. I did manage to help a woman whose only means of digging the layers of ice off her car was a CD case. With the mild winter and no snow she had forgotten to put the all important ice scraper in her car. So at least I was able to help someone through my own forgetfulness!
Thanks for the message this morning Patty. This week has definitely been a struggle and your message this morning really helped.
Nothing much else on the agenda today except getting myself to work and through the workday. DD is still home and I have a pot of chicken soup simmering away for dinner this evening. I'm not anticipating dog walking activity this evening. Everything is so icy and I don't want either Otto or myself getting hurt on the ice.
I did manage to pry myself out of bed this morning for a brief workout. The bed was way too comfortable and warm this morning.
Thankfuls
Safe travels for my family members and thankful that DD who was snowbound in MA was safe and secure
Warm home and a stocked pantry and refrigerator.
Valentines Day cards and a Valentine from my Valentine with his own "art" work attached.
All you ladies here. I'm so thankful for all of you. All of you are in my thoughts each and every day. I only hope that I can give back a small portion of what each of you gives me each and every day.
Time to check on my soup and if I'm real ambitious unload the laundry chute. I'm just a bit frightened of how much is going to come flying out of there!

Good Morning Everyone!
It's only 25 degrees here and I feel a chill to the bone even though we have our "emergancy" heat on.
