I'm getting ready to get dressed in case I need to be at the hospital early. Dad is scheduled for surgery if they found a broken hip or pelvis, so I want to be ready just in case. I'm hoping it's not necessary, because that is hard on anyone, much less someone his age.
I just finally ordered him his belated birthday and Christmas presents. He got sick right before his birthday, so I put it off waiting to see what he might like and need. I got him a 10.2" screen portable DVD player, a rechargable battery, the first and second seasons of Walker Texas Ranger and DVD1 of Gunsmoke. He LOVES those shows and the hospital doesn't have the stations they come on. Don't know if the assisted care place he'll go would have them either, but this way he can watch them whenever he wants. There are more of those shows available too. I'm sure Lisa and Cheryl will add to his collection.
Tim's at work and Rob's at school. Still dark out. Tim has 2 people in town from Dallas today. Has to pick one up at the airport at 11. I'm sure he'll still find time to make it to the hospital at some point.
I was hoping for a little more sunshine (the real kind) this morning and hope some of the gray skies will move on out. I have to say when I got out for the paper about 6:30 the sky has been absolutely beautiful. The crescent moon yesterday was incredible against that very dark blue sky right before dawn.
Down to the basement for a predawn workout. I don't always look to fondly at that treadmill and other equipment at such an early hour. But always feel better and ready to start the day when I've accomplished that. Workout was courtesy of the treadmill this morning.
The work day is looming ahead. Can't wait to see if anyone will add some excitement (that I could do without) to my day.
Sauce and meatballs are already made just have to boil some water and throw in the pasta when I get home from work. I've been using a Barilla multi grain pasta that is really good. I'm not a big fan of whole wheat pasta but this multi grain isn't bad.
Otto walking will be on the agenda-by the way he loves pretty much anything he can scrounge up as an addition to dog food. In addition to carrots and cheese which he LOVES he does love his pasta! Of course, this is the dog that loves gum that is stuck to the sidewalk too!
I need to straighten up my desk as well. By the time all the mail is sorted through during the week it always ends up on my computer desk in a big pile. Apparently I'm the only one qualified to toss out junk mail. Such a resume I could put together!
Rhonda-your Dad and the family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that they are able to determine the cause of all the pain that your Dad is in.
Love you guys! Hope everyone does enjoy a picture perfect Tuesday! By the way, flip flops are my favorite footwear! I have my black shiny sequined ones that I bought last year and just love. DH always asks me if my feet are cold and the answer is always no! Keeps me one step closer to warmer weather!
Good morning, I heard from Katie around 6:50, they were waiting to board the plane. I need to check the schedule for she should in in the air and on her way home. It sounded like a busy and fun time for her, something she will remember for a long time to come. I am already showered, dressed and ready for work. I am heading in there for about an hour then off to the airport to pick them up. I am taking the rest of the day off to hang with Katie and Sharon. House is picked up and the laundry caught up so today should be a mild kind of day. I heard rumors of temps being near 50 today but rain heading our way then the temp dropping again. Although I do see those robins and I hear them chirping. I guess I need to move my tail and get to the office. WW weigh in is tonight and I must be honest I do not want to go........having trouble refocusing and it scares me. Right back into the same flow of quitting and I so do not want to go there. I have 5 pounds off and I hung a pair of tight jeans on the bedroom to door to help motivate me. I am giving myself 2 weeks to fit into them comfortably............I must do this for me! Now I guess a good run the grocery store this week to buy "my stuff" and get my butt up and some exercise done are key. Well have a great day everyone. Rhonda, thinking of your dad this morning and sending him postive prayers and thoughts.

As my dad used to say pre-knee replacement surgery....I'm doing fine but my knees are giving me trouble.
Good morning ladies!
Karen
Your dad will be in my prayers today for a very successful surgery (if it happens!).
That's it...I've tried the quiet and demure version of J-Deb...ain't going to happen anymore.
