Happy St Patrick's Day to you and all too, Patty! Did that even make sense? Well, if you have meno brain it does. This through and through Italian girl is attempting to make corned beef, cabbage and potatoes for German DH, and I am trying to NOT make Irish Soda bread. I love it and will eat the whole thing. It is so easy to make with the reduced fat Bisquick too. I also got out my trusty food processor and made a whole head of cabbage into cole slaw. All this for only 2 people. I love leftovers!
The nasty weather we had turned into an icy/snowy mess. Everyone is out chopping away at the hard crust to get out of their driveways. DH cheated and put a plow on his truck to clear off what the county plows pushed on our driveway. I didn't even attempt to do any since DH said the snow/ice was way to heavy to lift. So I stayed away.
Hard to believe how bad the weather was when I look at the St Patrick's Day Parade. It looks like a beautiful sunny day in NYC. We all know there is a wind chill in the 20's though.
RHONDA...so glad to hear the good news about your Dad. What a relief for all. I hope he continues to improve. Loved the Irish Poem too.
NANCY...your change of plans sounds wonderful! What a great way to spend the day with DH and the heck with that ironing. Unfortunately, it will wait for you and it is drudge of a job.
SUSAN...your LOEME is very understandable with all you do. Great job on the workout. I had LOEME too today and was afraid to go out to the gym so I just ended up doing 45 minutes of Pilates. Couldn't face the elliptical or treadmill. You are right, it feels so good when it is done and it even gives some energy. Hope DH won the battle over the ice and snow.
DONNA...that was some walk you took last night in the snow. I agree that it is beautiful and quiet when it snows. I wish we had that here but it was that kind of freezing rain that hurts when it hits your face. Not a good thing to walk in. Your salmon steaks sounded good...I wish I would remember to cook it a little more often.
JazzerDEB...that class sure is different from Jazzercise. And lunges can be killers if you are not used them...forget that, even if you are! Great job on the eating yesterday too. That meal sounded delicious.
DEB/Mn...that is great that you are trying something new with the yoga. I have done a few classes at one of the gyms I work at and it is a great stretch and stress relief after taking boot camp challenge. I think it is called Vinyasa flow but I am not fluent in Yoga. I know more about Pilates than Yoga. I have a couple of videos and they are good too. Have a good one too!
KAREN...it sounded strange to hear you say you are going out to rake with everyone chopping ice around here. Glad you got a chance to put your feet up for awhile today. Those Lifetime movies are dangerous. They just suck you in and a lot of times they are really bad too. Did you ever notice how bad the wigs are on the actresses? LOL!
Well...that's it for now. Going to see if the corned beef is any where near being tender. I trimmed it up so much I think it is going to be dry. Doesn't matter, DH will eat anything.
