Hi everyone...I havent been here in quite some time but thought I would stop by and see how everyone is doing on their fitness plan for 2007. I wish I could say that I am still dropping weight like I was the first month I started out on my new years resolution but if that were the case I would probably be close to my total weight loss goal:) I'm down 24 lbs so far (finally made it down to the 160's ugh). I'm hoping that by June I will be close to my goal. Take care everyone and I hope all is well.

Thanks you guys!!! I'm really feeling like I'm on a roll right now and I feel fantastic! Secrets you ask? Well...I've been trying to go to the gym daily (w/the exception of my heavy flow days during my period)where I spend anywhere from 45 min. -1.25 hrs on the treadmill (sweating my butt off). Before I started getting myself back in shape I went to GNC and bought a protien drink which I mix w/fruit and drink one for breakfast and one for lunch every day. I also bought my DH some herbal weight loss supplements (that he hasn't been using) so I've been taking them 2x's per day as well. I drink lots of water throughout the day...loads of it!!! For dinner I try to eat a sensible dinner, practicing portion control. It's really easy for me to eat sensibly when I work nights because I generally pack a turkey on pita w/hummus(no more mayo)w/lots of low fat snacks I nibble on throughout my shift. It's more difficult for me to stay on track when I'm at home at night because both my DH and I like to cook and dinner is always a big deal with us. Between the shakes, the supplements and the water, I am running to the bathroom constantly. I'm hoping that the closer I get to my ideal weight of 130lbs, I won't have to keep running to the bathroom as much. So for now, I can deal with my frequent trips to the ladies room, as long as the weight keeps coming off.

Now that I've completed my first 3 months and I'm on target towards my goal, I'm going to begin switching up my gym routine. I'm still a little worried about lifting weights (due to my cervical spondylosis)so I'm going to start using the machines and I'm also going to begin adding incline to my treadmill workouts. I've been watching this woman at my gym (she's there every day) and I noticed that she usually burns twice the calories on the machine as I do (and she's on the machine the same amount of time). At first I couldn't figure it out for the life of me how she was burning so many calories but then the other day I took a look at her incline and she had it set at 15!!! OMG, no wonder she's burning 800 calories a session.

So...hopefully the additional routines will help me continue to lose at the same rate for the next 3 months. I know that if I start building muscle it will show up on the scales so I have already taken that into consideration. Again, thanks for all of your support...
