Just me and my own little Sunshine today. Coworker was out due to a sick kid and Blondie well she decided that she wasn't coming in today. It was very quiet! Attempts were made at conversation aside from business. Answers were cordial but to the point and that was about it. The jealous b***ch of me just wasn't in much of a talking mood today. Work was very slow this morning and I think at one point I almost fell asleep. The afternoon picked up a bit and moved along at a little better pace.
The walk with Otto was again cold and raw. I did see some very warm blooded people walking around in shirt sleeves but it sure wasn't me. Sweatshirts on and hood up.
I've been doing the battle with the checkbook this evening. Kept making mistakes, having to rewrite checks...hate that. I'm then off to fold the laundry and finish up in the kitchen. I have an early AM doctor's appointment so I need to be one step ahead of myself for the morning. I will then be making the mad dash for the recliner where I too will be doing the lunge and squat!
I do get gold stars for the day for a return to better eating, getting in a workout and finally drinking all my water for the day!
Just reading the board and eating my dinner. Work this afternoon turned into a busy one since boss was back in town. Got a few problem files delt with so that was good. Stayed until 5:15 and he drove me home. I should have walked (its only 5 blocks but it is still chilly out and I had on my loafers not my sneakers). I actually sat on the couch myself and watched the TIVO of Desperate Housewifes from Sunday. Felt good to do nothing. Had a change in dinner plans in that Bill made a mistake and does not have class tonight. But Billy was not hungry and Bill said he was not hungery, actually he is not home yet. Rob is at a friends house so Katie got raviolis and I had a package of chicken tenders that I sauteed in garlic and olive oil. I am enjoying them with some mixed vegtables and 2 of Katie's raviolis. It will be an early night here because tomorrow already looks busy. Well Bill just pulled in and
Patty, I'm sorry to hear your weather was so yucky. Hate it when that happens. Ours has been really strange -- one minute it's hot, then it's cold, then it's hot again. I hadn't been out, because of being sick, so I put on a long sleeved T to get some groceries. I passed by the thermometer up that way and it was 88 at 2:45!!! Who knew? I think we'll be in the low 90's on Saturday, but Sunday the high is supposed to be only 65. No wonder people keep getting sick.
Lori, I got the Walgreen's version of Mucinex this afternoon. I had to get a certificate and take it to the counter to get the decongestant kind, then show my ID. I guess it has the stuff in it that you can use to make Ecstasy or something. I waited until this evening to take it in case it made me feel woozie. So far, so good. I am doing better today, thankfully. Hope you are too.
Rob and I took Riley to see Dad. He looked pretty good today, and Mom was excited that he had walked a good little ways with his walker and supervision during physical therapy this afternoon. He enjoyed having Riley there and held her on his lap while he petted her. Several people came in the room to see her or commented about her when we walked down the hall. I had put her in a carrying case like an oversized purse and took her into BJ's with us to shop, and no one ever knew. LOL! I couldn't leave her in the hot car.
Tim came to the nursing home while we were there. He said he needed a break and wanted to visit Dad while we were there. He didn't stay terribly long, because he had a lot to do at the office. I'm hoping he'll be home any time now after working such long hours lately. His sister is not doing well again, and he seems to be the only one who can help. At least with her in town, he doesn't have to fly cross country like he did several times last year. I don't mean to sound callous, but he has issues of his own to deal with and others added to them don't help.
I got some keys remade at Home Depot, took Rob to get a CD he wanted, and got a new hair towel at BB&B to replace one I got by mistake that I hate. I threw the other one away as soon as I got home with the new one. NEVER buy one that doesn't have a button and elastic loop to keep it closed. I did, and it was a big mistake. It sounds like a small thing, but was a source of daily aggravation.
I have been able to get some laundry done too, but am still far behind on the house and in the yard. Maybe in the next few days I'll get caught up.
Princess.. I agree with you on knowing your style by this age.. I am so thankful we don't have uniforms.. there was talk of uniforms and they were pretty hidious....
Susan,, Wtg on going out for a walk... I had my dinner and I am not going for a walk.. I am beat....
Rhonda,, You had a busy day again...
I survived work.. barely... it was just one of those days.. my negative nellie was just that.. .the remarks she makes... does she have to be so dang negative... Tomorrow should be better... I hope I can get some sleep.. I haven't been sleeping well at all.. I keep thinking I will get used to this mattress.. but not yet..
It's hard to feel good when you're not sleeping well. I've been having a lot of trouble due to hormone changes, but recently I seem to be doing a little better. I think it may be the cold medicine. ;-) Hope things are better for you tomorrow.
I missed where your DH is. Where is he that the temp. is that much warmer? You need to come on down here for a while (at least before it gets cold again Sunday).
Donna, so happy to see a post from you. You were missed!
Keeping Peter and his job hunt in my thoughts and prayers. It's really a shame that people have become so insensitive and too busy to bother with being civil.
I think you'd love Zumba, so I hope you can find classes near you. The YMCA is the biggest source here, although other places are jumping on the band wagon too. It's great, because the classes are free, other than our monthly fee. I can take as many as I want. If I find another teacher even close to Christine's level, I'll take more. Which reminds me, if you're not crazy about your first teacher, try another. Each one is different in the songs they select, style, technique, pace, personality, etc. I was just very lucky to get a fantastic one the first time out.
