Thinking of going to yoga... A definate walk today as it is sunny and suppose to get into the 50's... Eatting will be a bit of a challenge as it is my son's birthday... 17 .. omg where did the time go.. and to think he is my baby.. :..
A beautiful start to Saturday here on LI. We haven't seen bright blue skies for most of the week or much of the sun. I had intended to get up and out the door early this morning but I was awake much too early and then went back to sleep. By the time I got dressed to head out I decided it was just easier to head to the treadmill. I just hope the sun and blue skies are still around for a walk with Mr.Otto this afternoon. The weather is supposed to turn ugly and I did hear that we are on a fine line for a noreaster that could bring either rain and/or snow and sleet. I'm opting for the rain!
Interesting development at work yesterday. Seems the story about her DD's illness were 2 different stories and it has come to light that perhaps she hasn't been completely honest in keeping her time sheets. We get paid every 2 weeks and it's our responsibility if we come in late or we take a sick day, personal day, vacation etc to record that on our sheets and on the pay weeks to turn them over to the bookeeper. Well it seems that hers from last summer mysteriously vanished and of course she needed to reconstuct them. Quite honestly if it was a human error I'm not sure I could remember if I took a day here and there but of course if you're a bit deceitful that's a real easy way to get some extra vacation time as we were all wondering how she possibly had paid time coming to her when she went to FL in Dec. So it will be interesting now if her time sheets are handed in on time this week and whether the day and a half she took off will be on there. There's obviously nothing they can do about last year but I have a feeling that there's going to be a more watchful eye on her time off. I think that may be why she was taking so much vacation time in days. Much easier to hide the time that way. Maybe that's why they are so adamant about vacation time being taken all in weeks. DH always says what goes around comes around-maybe it just may happen!
It will be the usual Saturday around here. Lots of dog hair that needs to be sucked up and some general straightening up. Never really finished up with last weeks laundry and the laundry chute is full so the laundry alone should keep me busy.
I need to look in the freezer and figure out what looks appetizing in there. While I'm in there I should probably start throwing some things out that probably would serve a better purpose in a science lab but I need to do that when DH isn't around-it drives him crazy although he always knows what I've done when he puts out the garbage!
Guess it's time to start the non paying work day! Hope everyone has a spectacular Saturday!
Good morning! Getting ready to throw some things in a suitcase and head out for our weekend in St. Augustine. Woo hoo!! Can't remember the last time we stayed somewhere -- maybe overnight, Christmas holidays 2005 in St. Aug.
I let a room get away from me that would be close to the art festival and downtown, so we'll be staying on the island near the ocean instead. Normally, that's where we'd want to be, but downtown would be more convenient this time. It's a nice hotel where we've stayed previously. Brunch out
Good afternoon all! Late start but I had to teach those two classes this morning and it is after 12 by the time I get home. I am a bit headachy today...probably the impending weather coming in. A friend said she was just going to chillax today an I think I am on the agenda for the same thing. The only thing I plan to do is go to Mass tonight so I don't have to go out in the Nor'easter tomorrow.
Susan...I am hoping so much that a certain someone gets her come uppance. Maybe more and more of what she does will come to light to the powers that be and she will get it good. I am with your DH...what goes around comes around. (At least I hope so!) OH, things last in the freezer much longer than you think. Potted meals hide a lot too...LOL!
Deb/Mn...my baby is 28...talk about time going too quickly. Happy birthday to DS! Talking about time going fast, I can't believe my oldest grandchild is 10! Hope you get your walk in.
Rhonda...hope you have a wonderful time in St Augustine. I would take just one warm day right now! Enjoy...
Nancy...for living in a rural area with a small town, you certainly have a wonderful social life. I don't remember the last time we got together with friends. Well...having a stick in the mud socially for a DH doesn't help. Anyway, good for you for getting your storeroom done. What an accomplishment. I wouldn't know where to start in the storage part of our basement. The "tour of tables" sounds like a lot of fun.
Margie...congrats on being able to wear a smaller size dress. You are doing great and your attitude is wonderful too. I am glad you took charge of your life and your mood. You are giving off such positive vibes. You will love the laptop and wireless router. I got set up with one last November. I love it. Our computer is fine and it has everything on it we will never use. This one is a small Toshiba and it is just what I need to "play" on. Good luck puter shopping. (Son in law just bought one and he researched and researched and ended up with an HP) Enjoy your wedding next weekend and glad Flo cooperated!
Well...I am attempting again to make rice pudding. Unfortunately, I keep trying to make it healthy with brown rice and ff milk and it just doesn't quite make it. But, it does fill the hole when I want something "desserty".
Getting ready to hunker down for tomorrow's storm. Have a good weekend all...
Love that...the unmade bed police. So true...who really cares if the bed is made or not?
So, it might take me 24 years to make a decent rice pudding. I don't think I can wait that long. Nothing like a good homemade chicken soup. Yumm...it will be perfect with the Nor'easter coming in. Good luck at the nursery and finding a decent less expensive landscaper.

Happy Birthday to your DS! My baby will be 22 this year but I'm sticking to the theory that they're all getting older and not me!
