Good morning everyone. Thinking of all the runners today as they take on the Boston marathon in very difficult weather conditions. Anyone see where a female astronaut will be running the marathon in space?

Good Morning,

Looks like another nasty day of weather. We had about 8" of rain yesterday and lots of wind. Although the weather people were predicting far worse it was still a terrible day of weather. They're still waiting for the tide to come in so flood conditions remain a concern on many parts of LI and surrounding areas. It looks like we're going to have a pretty soggy week. I did see pictures of the Boston area this morning and appears that they are having what we had yesterday. Those marathoners are going to have a really miserable weather day. Along with the weather conditions I went grocery shopping and the aisles were wiped clean. The meat counters were wiped clean as well as the dairy aisle. Apparently everyone went shopping Saturday and I guess were figuring they were going to be in their houses for quite a period of time!

Such a lazy day yesterday. Watched Dodge Ball:A True Underdog story. One of those really silly movies that make you sit there and laugh! Lots of reading and not much else. A truly lazy day.

I did get up at my appointed hour and put some miles on the exercise bike and then headed to some weights. I finally decided that I need to up the weight. I get a little too accustomed to things the way they are. Time for a change.

Work awaits me and can't say that I'm ready for the new working week. I think it's time to sit down and figure out a vacation schedule.

Phyllis-so happy to see a post from you. Enjoy your shopping and hope you do get some time for that fun stuff-a broken tooth is certainly not one of them!

Karen-sending prayers and good thoughts for your upcoming medical procedure. Please don't stress about DH. Somehow it will all work out and the only thing you should concern yourself with is taking care of yourself! The inlaws are interesting to say the least!

CL-Deb-Loved the Katie pictures and the cat pictures. Guess that cat really would like a fish dinner!

Nancy-sounds like you had a fun weekend!

Rhonda-glad you and Tim had a nice getaway. Sounds like Dad is making progress-continued good thoughts and prayers for continued progress.

After my lazy day yesterday I guess it's time to venture back to reality and the paying work week ahead of me.

Hope you all have a magnificent Monday!

Susan

I'm loving the weather too Nancy... Feeling sorry for those in the East that are not... especially the flooding and those running the Boston Marathon....

Thanks for the push Patty... The #1 thing is eatting for me this week and that is going to be tough.. After today I have two long days at work followed by three short days and then the card club picnic which I host... What a week... I just hope I can continue to get walks in and possible one little itty bitty weight.. But #1 is eatting healthy..

Today is enjoy the grandson day and the weather.. A definate walk outside and running some errands.... I do have to clean up the house.. A good vacumn and dusting.. but then ENJOY...

Have a good day all!!

Good morning ladies,

Patty, this week I'm concentrating on eating well and getting a full week of workouts in.

Happy Monday to you too, Patty and all! I am still finding it hard to take care of me first and there are no more kids living in this house.

However, I started today with doing for me. I got up, didn't think twice about the housework I should be doing, and went to take the Fusion Class at the gym. I also have been cooking some things I can eat to help me stay on my eating plan once and for all. I saw a recipe in this weeks WW newsletter for veggie wrap with vegetarian chili and it looked so good. I noticed lately that I have been having more and more meat free meals. I still eat chicken some days...LOL! I also made a big pot of steel cut oatmeal to have on hand and used my rice cooker to make some brown rice. I read recently you should cook up different "grains" to have on hand to mix with veggies for the week.

OH MY GOD!! Did I just see that 22 people were killed at a Va Tech? I am overwhelmed.

I have to check it out and I will post again later.

Hope you get to do more fun stuff now that you are home Phyllis. Strange how things like teeth breaking happen when you are not home. It seems when we get a mix of grass seed, we seem to get more of the inexpensive seed than the expensive seed.

Try to schedule some fun stuff!

Hope you have a pleasant day at work today, Nancy. Those dreams can be very disturbing and I hate to tell you, but they are a part of menopause. I call them marathon dreams that go on and on and very bizarre.

I am tweaking my eating big time this week too. I have to stay within my WW pts and try to eat core or low glycemic foods.

Wishing you a good night's sleep tonight. Good luck to DH with his new leg. Prayers it works out with little break in period and he can get it done with planting season.

Hope the work week isn't too painful, Susan. Sorry the grocery shopping was as successful as it could have been. Doesn't seem like Long Island didn't get hit as badly as originally thought.

Good for you for getting that workout in.
