I need a boost ladies!

Hi all,
I'm new to the site and to the whole message board thing. I'd love some support and am eager to reciprocate. In a nutshell, I've gained back 15 of the 25 pounds I lost. My job ended in late 2005 and all the boredom and time alone turns me to eating. I used to be so disciplined: 1200 calories a day, kept food journals, exercised religiously. Now I start a diet every Sunday, fail by Tuesday, and the gym time is far less frequent.
I have a wonderful boyfriend who is totally supportive and tells me all the time how good I look but unless you're happy with yourself, you just don't see it when you look in the mirror. It's SO much harder once you hit 40.
Any tips on getting some traction so I can really start and not fail immediately every time?

Hi, Nancy and welcome.
Donna
Additionally, we're finally creeping up into the 60's from the 30's here in Chicago so I can hit the lakefront to walk.
I'm going to call you C-Nancy to distinguish you from our other Nancy. OK?
I went to NEOCON in Chicago once in the 1980's for 4 days, and it was a really fascinating city. Money flowed pretty freely for professional events, so we got the royal treatment. It is a real smorgasbord for lovers of architecture and art, among other things.
Wish I had only 10 lbs. to go till my ideal weight. I think I'm closer to 20-25, since I've let it get out of hand. I'm seriously considering getting back on WW and have just started doing Zumba, which I absolutely love! Went last night, but was just too exhausted to be able to go to this morning's class. I had to be to not go, because I even worked hard to get over a cold in time to go last week.
Look forward to your posts.

C-Nancy it is! I've been called worse I'm sure. Chicago is a great city, notwithstanding the weather. But I always say, if we had Calif. weather, there'd be that many more people moving here and traffic would be even slower~
What is Zumba?
Sounds like you're pretty active, which I hear many retired people are. Good for you. Thanks for popping in to say hi.
