Good thoughts this morning, Patty. It's true about the fitness style. I've learned if I don't like it, I won't stick with it. When a method is right, it doesn't really seem like work and it's something to look forward to instead of dread.
Thankfuls:
1. We got Dad out of the hospital and back to the nursing home.
2. The new Explorer.
3. Tim took time off to spend with me and he seems to be trying to make it more of a priority in spite of how swamped he is.
4. Tim's bloodwork came back good.
5. I made my reservations for my flight to MD and to my class reunion up there.
6. Rob had a good trip to the NC mountains and made it home safely.
7. Pool weather
8. Family, health, home, and friends
9. A church and pastor where I feel very much at home
I had lunch with Dad yesterday and will visit him again today. There's a meeting of his therapists, dr., nurses, etc., at 2:00, so I'm going to try to be there for that with Mom.
Tonight is Zumba!! I need to be sure to have enough energy for that. Something has been giving my eyes and throat a fit, so I'm assuming it's allergies. I've taken medicine for headaches and am using eye drops twice a day to help. Still in the tired cycle too. I'll be glad when it passes.
Tim called late last night when he got to his hotel. I found out he had to drive to a town in Kansas after he landed in Kansas City, MO. It was after 1:00 when he got there (our time). His meeting is at 8:30 this morning. Since he couldn't get a flight out tonight, he'll be back early tomorrow afternoon, but he'll probably go straight to the office unless he's too tired. I wish he'd come home, get in the pool, and then take a nap. He needs a break.
I'm tryin to eat healthy, but I confess I've been having chocolate cake at Dad's. It should be gone today.
We had some rain last night but looks like the sun is trying to make an appearance before rain heads our way again for tomorrow.
I've been fighting with the blues all week and definitely on an emotional roller coaster this week. April 26 is an interesting day-I just finished my 14th year at my job and still wondering whether it's been long enough. I've been looking through the paper but unless I go somewhere and do exactly what I'm doing now-not sure if that's what I would want to do. April 26 also marks the first year of my MIL's passing. Always seem to still look for her when the family gathers. DD's BF's grandmother also passed away last night. She was a lovely lady.
Rolled myself out of bed this morning and got down to the basement for some time on the elliptical and weights. Otto and I never made it out the door yesterday for our walk but hopefully the rain that is expected will hold off and we'll be able to get out this evening.
Karen-glad to hear that your surgery went well and you're feeling good-but don't overdo please!
Thankfuls:
That the week is almost over-it's been a long one.
Great memories of a wonderful MIL and grandma-she was one special lady. I'm so thankful that she was part of my life.
Thankful for the love and support that DD is able to give to her BF during a very sad time
Your post reminds me of the lyrics to my favorite Rossington-Collins Band (remnants of Lynyrd Skynyrd) song.
Don't Misunderstand Me by Rossington-Collins Band
I know where you're goin', 'cause I see where you've been Don't you know by now, you've gotta take life on the chin Still you sit and wonder why the past is gone Baby you'll go under if you don't carry on
Don't misunderstand me I realize it ain't easy to take, But you've been hidin', and I've been Ridin' like the wind just to find you.
I don't need no promises, just tell me the truth. Mister, keep it honest, that's all I ask of you. Don't be second guessin', 'bout where you want to be. Baby, count your blessings 'cause you won't find one like me.
Don't misunderstand me I realize it ain't easy to take, But you've been hidin', and I've been Ridin' like the wind just to find you.
Baby, put your dress on, grab them fancy shoes, Honey, I'm ready and waiting on you. Time is surely wastin', we've so much to do. We're both too smart to be fakin'.
And I know it doesn't matter which road we choose, Or if it's your way or my way. Well now lady, let me tell you what we're gonna do, We're gonna ride every highway.
Don't misunderstand me I realize it ain't easy to take, But you've been hidin', and I've been Ridin' like the wind just to find you. To find you...to find you...to find you.
I don't watch "American Idol", probably one of the few who don't watch, but Phil Stacey is from Jacksonville, so he's getting a lot of coverage here. I watched part of a show when I was at my DD's house in Orlando and thought the 17-yr. old was very good, the short woman with the big voice was very good, and Blake was cute. I didn't get to hear Phil sing.
Susan, sounds as though you've had an awful lot going on this week. It would be hard not to have the blues. Glad you're getting in some exercise to help counteract those feelings. I'm so sorry to hear about your DD's BF's grandmother.

There is a lot of wisdom in that statement, Patty!
