Sorry I have been popping in here and there these last few days. This juggling thing is getting old. I never made it to my WW meeting on Tuesday since I took Katie out to see Daniel for a few hours. We have lots of time to make up. That engulfed the entire afternoon and early evening. Thank goodness for the flexible job and understanding boss. I asked in the morning if I could cut out at 2 instead of my scheduled 3 and it was fine. Yesterday was a full day followed by a trip over to my parents house. Katie and I headed over to visit with them since my youngest sister was in town for the night and I had not seen her since Katie and her flew to Florida in March. Our other sister joined us with the kids for pizza and talk. Got home after 9 but saw the end of American Idol. I was glad that no one got voted off but I did not like the way they did it. But next week 2 will go home........so that will be interesting. Today I was supposed to be off but headed into the office from 9 till 12. Ran to Target from there to buy a new iron since Monday morning mine went on fire. Can you say not a good way to start the day or week, lol. Bought a Rowena (?), along with $150 worth of other stuff. Can't have too much stuff, right? Then I headed to the shoe maker to drop off 2 pairs of my favorite pumps. Both needed new heels and polishing. Then the bank for a quick deposit, butcher for some fresh chop meat then home. I was home about 45 minutes when I had to head to the school to pick up Katie from extra help. This morning I made the mistake of tearing apart my cedar closet and I had to reorganize it. I made up 3 bags for good will and bought some new bins at Target for my blankets. Boys got home around 7 and we had fresh hamburgers for dinner. All quiet now, Katie should be getting ready for bed, Bill is in the shower and the boys..........well I am not sure where they are or what they are up to. I am going to put an order together on Peapod and hope it can be delivered Saturday morning. I have to work tomorrow. I am helping my boss with a seminar and we have been working on it for weeks and tomorrow we have out first presentation. Hope all is well with everyone. There is no way this pea brain of mine is going to remember everything so let me just say I am thinking of you all and hope you have a wonderful evening.

I love artichokes too! Nice to hear DH is giving you TLC!

Following are areas where certification classes are being held for Zumba. I think you can take the classes even if you don't want to be certified, but because they're like 8 hours long, they are kind of pricey. On the other hand, if you're looking for a new career... :-) We had instructor training here recently and more than 30 people were certified!!

Had lunch with Dad today and Mom arrived while he was still eating. She had to be at the house for the computer repairman to replace her entire mother board, which made her run a little late. Yesterday, Mom took him to the afternoon activity in the main dining room

I'm new here and had a pretty bad first (actually second) day. Is this only women? I know, probably a stupid question. I had a visit to a urologist because I have a tumor on my right kidney called a angiomyolipoma, (sounds worse than it is), but it's not supposed to be bad unless it grows a lot. It might cause pain if it ruptures. The good news...Normally they grow on the outside, so the urologist said they can be easily removed. Mine, however, is right in the middle of my kidney. He said he'd have to remove my whole kidney. Hopefully, it won't grow anymore.

The only way I knew I had this is because of the ultrasound, ct scan, and MRI I've had in the last few weeks. Long story short....I've had pain in my lower right side for about 2 years, but a ct scan a year ago supposedly didn't show anything. Time to change dr. I went to my pcp for a checkup, and she did a CA-125 bloodtest, which is a marker for ovarian cancer, at my request. I was nervous after first getting the results, because it was elevated, but after the other tests, the radiologist thinks it's endometriosis. (I had 2 laporoscopies, 1985 and 1986, because of a bad case of endo.) My gyn (just started back w/her. Used her 15 years ago, but because of ins, had to change. Luckily, she's on our ins now) did another set of blood tests 2 weeks ago to compare. It was the WORST bloodtest I've ever had. I expect to be stuck twice because my veins are small. Not only did she stick me in both arms, but I swear this lady stuck the entire syringe in my arm. My arm had bruises where there wasn't even a needle. Anyway, I just got those results. The CA-125 had doubled since Feb. It's supposed to be 35 or less. In Feb, mine was 63.5, now it's 130.9. Another test, CA-19.9 should be 37 or less. Mine is 109. (CA 19.9 can show pancreatic or colon cancer.) I'm a googling kind of girl, so I googled it and read where it can also be elevate with endometriosis. I've got a feeling there's a lot of endo in there.

I hurt so bad sometimes, but try to use a heating pad or hot baths. Recently I've used Advil, and a couple of times Vicadin left over from surgery 2 years ago. I knew my dr said the tests showed by right ovary was enlarged. Here's the neat part. I mean neat in a weird way. I picked up CD from the imaging center to take to the urologist so he could look at my kidney. When he opened the CD to see the ct scan and MRI he showed me my kidneys(the thing on my kidney looks like a musical note. An eighth note to be more specific). He also showed me my right ovary. Oh my gosh, IT'S HUGE. It looks about 10 times bigger than my left, and my left even has a cyst. He let me have the CD. I couldn't wait to get home to show my dh the pictures.

Seeing how big the right ovary is makes me understand why I have so much pain. I hurt on my left side sometimes and I think something is swollen because it has recently been feeling like what I'd call a pinched nerve, although I've never had one.

Anyway, I don't want hormone treatment like my gyn suggested, so I expect another lap. Hopefully when this all gets fixed, I can start exercising like I should.

Years ago I had a cyst on an ovary. The OB/GYN put me on the pill for a while and it went away -- no surgery. You might want to give hormones a try for a while to see if you respond well to them. If it's just for a short time and you can avoid going under the knife, it would be well worth it. Why not get a second opinion? I hope all the elevated results are due to endometriosis.

I'll add you to my prayer list.

Hugs,

       ~~Rhonda~~
