Good Morning,

Bright blue beautiful skies this morning and temperature moving up to around 70 today. So would love to be outside today!

Another restless night. The phone rang at 1AM which of course scared the you know what out of me considering DS wasn't home. It was DS but DH had locked the storm door so he couldn't get in. It was either the phone or the doorbell and either one scares me at that hour. Finally went back to sleep then woke up with a stomachache and the same dang headache as yesterday. Then I was hot then I was cold. Needless to say when the alarm went off I just couldn't get up to head to the basement for a workout.

The washer and dryer have been doing their thing and I got some vegetables cut up to put into a sauce and throw it over some whole grain pasta for dinner tonight. Simple and easy-that's my motto lately.

It should be a nice evening for an after dinner walk with the four legged one. It was beautiful last night!

Rhonda-your trip sounded very nice! Love the bathing suit!

Nancy-congrats on the 3lb loss! Hurray for you!

Patty-you may have to pass out tickets for hammock time-sounds like a few of us could use a good power nap!

Margie-with the exception of the nasty storms in your area sound like you had a very nice mental health day! Love a nice pedicure!

Thankfuls

The beautiful colors of spring. All the trees are coming back to life and they are beautiful!

Walks with my canine friend.

Good friends to share the ups and downs of our daily lives.

Time to get ready to start the paying portion of the day. Hope it's a good day for everyone!

Good morning ladies........should you notice the time of my post you will discover its very unusual for me. I am going to work late today. Woke up around 5:30 with horrible cramps..........hello aunt flo and a pounding headache. Took 3 Motrins and climbed back under my covers. Poked Bill around 6:15 and told him he was in charge of getting everyone up and out. I reset my alarm for 8:00, called work and told them I would be coming in but after 10:00. I feel much better although I have a feeling its going to be a tuff week with aunt flo ( I need to call the doctor and make an appointment to discuss some options). I folded a batch of jeans that were in the dryer, switched the darks from the washer and put another load of light colors into the washer. I ran the vacuum cleaner through the downstairs of the house and enjoyed a quiet cup of tea and bowl of puffed wheat cereal. Now I will head into the shower and get ready for the office. I only have to work until 3 today and then I think a good walk outside will do me good. Katie will be home by then and she has a project she needs to finish. I am thinking a nice roasted chicken for dinner with red potatoes, fresh veggies and cranberries.........sounds good, right? Hope everyone has a great day today. Nancy let me also congrat you on those 3 pounds. Not easy to do especially tiny you!

Thankfuls: Beautiful blue skies and warm air temps, birds are sining and the trees are blooming, my home is orderly, the first step in our garage is finally happening, my MIL arrived in CA safe, the chance to turn over and go back to sleep for a few hours, my husband and my children and always this wonderful place of friends called FOF!

Wednesday was pretty good. Got several things done, thanks to reading what each of you do. I cleaned out one box and started another. Only 8 more to go. I walked almost 2 miles. I wanted to go more, but my left side was hurting and I didn't want to get too far from home since I didn't bring my phone. Registered and started on-line definsive driving. Yippy!!(much better to just have just watched the speed limit sign). Rescheduled MRI for next Monday.
???Has anyone taken Tylenol 3? My dr called in a presc. for some for me to take so my back won't hurt during the MRI. Is it strong and will I really need 2, or will 1 work?
I went to the library looking for a magazine someone told me about for organic gardening, but couldn't find it. The librarian showed me a different one. I looked through a few months worth of them. They make me want to live in the country, or at least not smack-dab in the middle of a city. I'd love to have a few acres to have a decent garden and maybe a few animals. The city I live in is just outside of Houston, and houses with even half-acre yards are very few and far between. Most houses have lots that are only 50 X 75. Mine is 33 years old. New ones are sometimes smaller because they're 2 story.
DD just called and asked me to time at her swim meet after school today. Glad to. I did that a few times when I was teaching. They go by SO much faster when timing. Last week was her first meet and I realized how long and boring they are when you're just standing around for over 2 hours waiting for her to do her 3 events.

Anyway, today I'm deciding whether to go get my alergy shot or see about getting my sunvisor fixed. I wound up not going yesterday. I need to finish one more box and maybe do a pilates DVD since I walked yesterday.

The elderly man you're speaking of is amazing to do everything one handed. He must be quite a trooper to keep trying and not to give up. My brother was in a really bad wreck last summer and lost the use of his left arm/hand/wrist. A lot of his arm (muscle/tendons/nerves) was ripped out. His truck flipped on it's side and spun 180 degrees with his arm underneath. The top of his bald head had a skinned spot where his head apparently was hanging out the window and drug across the freeway. God bless the people who found him and called 911 at 2:20am. He's had several surgeries and is facing more. He's regaining some use, but still doesn't have strength. At Easter, I had to cut up the roast he was eatting. He was so happy a couple of months ago when he was able to pick up the phone. He's 36 and single. He moved back in w/our parents when he got out of the hospital. He was able to get dressed with one hand. I never figured that one out. He'd even put on socks with one hand. I just don't get it. He's worked so hard to regain use. His wrist was totally floppy. In fact, at my Christmas open-house he entertained everyone by holding his arm up and slinging it back and forth because the wrist just went all over the place. His drs are amazed that he's getting the use back that he has. It'll never be totally normal, but from where it was 9 months ago, he's come a long way. The arm looks really gross. Major scars from the plastic surgery. Hopefully they'll serve as a reminder of what drinking and driving does. Noone could convince him, so hopefully God woke him up with this.

Nancy, Do you get allergy shots? I just recently started them. Mold was the only thing I tested pos for, also. My allergist told me to get rid of my house plants because they harbor mold. I got rid of the few I had, except I couldn't part with the aloe vera my daugher potted for me at church several years ago. It's been a life saver in the kitchen several times when I burn myself. I love Zyrtec. I've used it for about 5 years. I actually use Zyrtec D. I only take one dose in the morning and it seems to do okay. I'd be up all night if I took one at bedtime, also. The Zyrtec helps with the sneezing and scratchy throat. I started allergy shots because my nose was, and still is, so stopped up I couldn't breath. Afrin works great, but I know it's not good to use for long periods. My dr said it may take up to 6 months to see results from the shots. 2 months down, 4 to go, or at least we'll see.

I feel as though I'm going uphill today. Really tired. I guess a lot of it is from not sleeping well the night we were in Orlando. As much as I love Zumba, it gives my hip joints a fit, and I kept waking up in pain because I hadn't brought anything for it with me. Last night after class, I soaked in Epson salts a long time, took some Motrin, rubbed some CM cream on the areas, and put a magnet on the left side. Made a big difference, thank goodness.

It's hot here again and appears to be smoky still. I don't think it's supposed to be quite as hot as it's been. We have a 30% chance for rain tomorrow and Saturday.

I should go to the nursing home today, but think I'll wait until later since Mom should be there in time for lunch. He's gotten so he wants to mainly spend time with her anyway. She even had to go to physical therapy to throw the ball with him the other day.

Lauren emailed today that they're getting a pool and it should be finished by the time I am up there! I am really happy for them. With 4 children and living away from so many things, it will provide a lot of entertainment for them.

Thankfuls:

1. Dad is making progress again.

2. Tim and I are doing well.

3. Our Orlando trip and being able to help Erin, Joe, and Jackson out.

4. Extra Zumba classes

5. Tim's business is growing and seems to have some great potential to be realized over the next few months.

6. Your friendship everyone!

Nancy, congratulations on losing those 3 lbs. That is really a lot for your height. Keep up the good work.
