Another slow day at work...spent the morning doing filing-my most dreaded thing at work-not to fond of it on the homefront either. I was getting ready to don my hard hat and dive for cover and possibly the fire extinguisher as sparks were flying at work. I'm sure I don't have to say who it involved. I'm trying to deal with the situation the best that I can and try to turn a deaf ear but if I hear it's not my fault and put the blame on someone else one more time I think I'm going to gag!
Anyway the workday is done. I made a very healthy concoction of eggplant, zucchini, green pepper in a tomato sauce over whole grain angel hair pasta. I do think DH thinks I'm trying to kill him with the amount of veggies I've been serving up. I love it but not sure he agrees!
Otto didn't feel like walking very far this evening. He dislikes DS Mustang and he had it out changing the oil today. Otto actually tried to block the path when he went to push it out of the garage. I think maybe he was on a mission to get back to the house so he could guard the driveway and prevent it from going anywhere. He can be a very strange dog at times!
I took the opportunity to get out for my own walk after dropping him home. No headphones just me and my thoughts. Great way to clear out my brain. Set my sights for a half hour walk and hoped to finish the route I mapped out for myself. Happy to report that I did accomplish that. It was also a mission on seeing how long my bladder would hold out. Lots of water to drink today-we'll just it was a mad dash into the house-and of course the front door was locked and I didn't have my keys to get in. Had to do the mad dash sprint to the back door! Now that the weather is nicer at least if I can't get myself up in the morning I have the option for a walk or bike ride in the evening.
Think I'll head upstairs now do a little reading and some TV and then hopefully a good night's rest will be mine tonight. Hope everyone has had a good day and pleasant dreams are headed your way!
Susan do you really think things are going to change in your office as long as Miss Sunshine is working there? Sorry you have to go through that mess, does make for a long day. Does she realize you are still angry with her? Your comment about Otto not liking your sons car makes me laugh. Our animals are so used to the noise level around here. Although not Cassone, I think she is still shell shocked after the garage demo from 2 summers ago.
I felt better this morning and decided to take advantage of it while I could. I ran the vacuum cleaner upstairs and down. I did another batch of laundry and I made me bed. I took a very long shower and enjoyed my morning tea and cereal without choking it down. I also enjoyed reading yesterdays posts. I actually headed into the office around 10:45 and the ladies quickly said I should have just stayed home. My eyes were heavy and teary and my cheeks were puffy under my eyes. Maybe allergies. My headache came back with a bang around 1:30 and I lasted in the office until 3:00. So I did manage 4 hours and did get my needed work taken care of. I can be a spit fire when I want to. My boss was at a seminar this morning and when I spoke to him around 11:00 I told he I NEEDED to go over the file that was closing on Friday. He started to go over it on the phone and I told the man...........get back here after the seminar is over it needs to be done in person so I understand it. I then told him I was sick and only came in because of this file........the man was going to head out to lunch with a friend but changed his mind. He went to lunch with this "friend" yesterday so I could not go over the file then. I got my point across and he was back around 12:30.
Got home and had to help Bill out. His mom left yesterday for CA and he needed me to run to his new bank in the next town to sign the bank papers and make a deposit. Then I came home, changed my clothes, folded another batch of laundry, set the table for dinner and put a roasting chicken into the oven. I then sat on the couch with Katie and watched Material Girls with Hillary Duff, cute movie. Had dinner with Bill and Katie and cleaned up. Bill was joking with me about brownies and well I had a mix in the cabinet. So while he was in the shower I threw it together and made them. Of coarse I had to have a warm one with some milk (skim of coarse). Now I need to figure out how many points those little suckers are........argh! Well time for another round of Motrin and my PJ's. I am off from the office tomorrow and I will not be visiting. I am however going to head to the shop and answer the phone for Bill for a little while. I have several magazines that need reading so that will help pass the time. Hope everyone had a great day and a nice relaxing evening.
Hi, What a day, actually what a week. I feel like I'm just getting further and further behind and things are piling up on my desk and floor, wherever there's room. My pc did not help me today either. We had a few things going on today too. Plant sale!!! Not really a sale but the Horticulture club selling plants and who can resists - well I can't. I managed to get a couple of things done before I went over there and tried to go on the early side so I'd have plenty of time to get other things with an ASAP timeframe done. I wanted to get some heavenly blue morning glories. I couldn't find any on the table but there were a lot of other colors. Finally gave up and went looking around at other stuff and ended up seeing more under a table on the other side of the room. Wouldn't you know there were some way back so I ended up kneeling down on the cement floor (slacks got a little dirty stretching over the plants (under the table) but managed to pull 3 out). Got up and walked around the table and guess what was on the floor right in front!! Picked up a couple hostas and then a couple 4 packs of salvia - I think hummingbirds like that. Anyway finally got back to office and got the document up I needed to send over to our copier department (use digital storefront program). When it was loading it I was waiting forever which is unusual and then it loaded and it didn't have the name of the file - only .pdf. Not right. I tried to close it and sat forever so I ended up having to manually shut down the computer. I ended up going through this for about an hour and finally it started working normally. I probably had too many things open when I had to shut it down. Then I ended up leaving late for the gym so I got back late to go to another meeting. By the time we got back I really didn't have much time left before I left for the day and others in the department were coming in with stories to tell that lasted a long time (not normal). I think the moon's been full the past couple nights. Anyway then there was an open house thing I wanted to go to. After making 3 stops I dropped my husband off at home and went to the open house. On the way there I saw that one of the tents was open (they sell plants till mid-July). Had to go there after the open house. Got another box of plants. Finally ate and watched a taped NCIS and now doing this. I'm trying not to think about all the work I still have to do at work and home. Have a lot of garden clean-up to do too. It's suppose to rain tomorrow and the weekend!!! This weekend we're going to be finding a place to stay (on-line to find a place) when we go visit my parents. I see it's getting late and I've got some other stuff to do, darn. I really must be out of shape cause I wipe myself out using the elliptical machine. After 10 minutes I get off and wobble around. Does it ever get better? Hope everyone had a great day!
Hummingbirds like anything reddish or tubular shaped to get their bills in for the nectar. I have a butterfly/hummingbird garden. I've seen several butterflies, but no hummingbirds there. About a month ago, I did see a hummingbird while I was in the swimming pool. It was dusk, and it was flying around a crape myrtle that was just starting to leaf out.
I planted a little bottle brush tree and have a hops tree to plant, as well, because butterflies and hummingbirds like those. I have lots of different herbs and blooming plants in the actual garden, plus they like my citrus tree and the big, front flower garden.
I'm happy to say the few hummingbirds we get must have seen something they liked since I hardly ever plant red. I did put in some red salvia last year but the first time I saw them flying around the flowers they were outside my kitchen window enjoying the terracota Million Bells. They also seemed to love the Black & Blue Salvia that I bought 2 years ago and again last year since they liked it so much. I do have herbs and I think they like Agastache(sp) also. Have catnip all over the place which I don't think they care for but our cats love it. I did pick up some red salvia yesterday when I went to 2 plant places so at least I might attract them with that when it blooms! I also bought a little Million Bells yesterday that's a purple with a little yellow mottled through it. Very different. You live in a much warmer spot - I'm northern mid-west. A little bit less to choose from or it's an annual. What herbs do you grow? Do you use them for the pleasure, seasonings and/or tea? Gotta go.

Gotta go.
I have agastache in the butterfly garden too. It's pretty and delicate. I have various kinds of mint, oregano, fennel, dill, rosemary, licorice,
