Because Pets Can’t Type…
What would your pet say about a day in the life of your household? If you are able, include a photo.
My name is Otto and I'm 11 years old. I was adopted when I was 1 1/2 and I know everyone thinks I'm a bit overweight but I prefer to think that I'm pleasantly plump. I love when the people that I live with get a bit forgetful and leave things around to get into. I can pull a tablecloth off without disturbing much and get those leftovers. I've been known to jump in the air and get pizza with a single flying leap and of course there was the time that Susan thinking she outsmarted me by leaving a box of chocolate in her bedroom closet and shutting the door to the bedroom only she forgot that I was in there and I had the WHOLE BOX to myself. There was the Costco size box of Butterfingers too but I'd rather not talk about that-we'll just say that didn't sit too well with me! I've also been know to garbage emptying. They've tried every kind of garbage pail. They've even resorted to bolting it to the wall. But Susan really was on to me and takes that garbage out every single morning-drat! No more garbage picking for me! I also like Friday nights because that's take out night and I get a big bone to chew on as a special treat!
I also love my neighbor Vinnie. He's always giving me treats. I especially like when he gives me two Chewies so that way I can eat one and bury the other one for a midnight snack. I especially like them when they've been buried for a couple of days of they're really dirty and disgusting!
We'll just say I really enjoy getting into things that I probably shouldn't! I do enjoy eating as well as going for my evening walk. I sometimes get to see my friends and sometimes I get to see Cody and his owner almost always has doggie biscuits to share!
My morning begins with weekday mornings sitting and whining outside the basement door waiting for Susan to appear from the basement. I'm not sure what's she's doing down there but she always appears to feed me and let me out into the backyard. When I come back in it's time for a nap until Phil leaves for work and then I look at him with my big brown eyes and he usually gives me a treat. Then it's back to my comfy bed until Susan leaves for work and I beg and plead for another treat. Then it's back to bed for another rest.
Noon finally arrives and I hear the key in the door and I run and grab a toy to greet Susan as she arrives for lunch. I get 3 small meals a day and I can't wait for that second food bowl. Then when it's nice outside I love to sit in the sun and roll around in the grass so I'm nice and dirty when I come back in! Then I get a nice scratching and sometimes a belly rub until it's time for Susan to go back to work. Then it's time for another long nap.
Finally 5PM comes and it's time for my last square meal of the day. I have learned to sit patiently by the table until Susan has finished eating and then I go rest my head on her leg and see if it's time for a walk. I also love the after dinner clean up because I always do my best to get my furry head and my big tongue in the dishwasher to lick up the remains. They don't like that much around here and I'm always hearing OTTO get out of there! So what's the problem with a 56 lb dog standing on the dishwasher door? Then it's time for a walk. I always pick the route because I've been told that I'm a bit stubborn. After we come home I love to sit outside and I enjoy going in and out the back door several times. Sometimes I come in and sit by Susan and she scratches me all over! Then it's time for bed!
