Starting Up (and over) Saturday

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone is set to enjoy their weekend. Karen, a 200 mile drive for dinner! I wouldn't be thrilled.
The process of starting and stopping, and then starting over again is a big part of learning something new.
Wow, I must be learning a lot when it comes to fitness, especially diet. I had planned these past few days to work hard at my diet. Instead I have eaten everything and

Princess, Hope your day is wonderful at the GH.... Sounds like you have a bit of attitude.. I Like it!

Good Morning,
Sunny and warm and humid here on LI. My plan had been to get up early and head over to the track but as plans go sometimes they curve a bit. I did get a walk in but I headed out later than I expected and by the time I walked over there I probably wouldn't have gotten too many laps in. So instead I took a neighborhood walk. I do have a bit of a competitive side in me. I saw another woman walking and she was quite a bit ahead of me so I stepped up my pace to see if I could catch up and pass her. I closed the gap but then she went in a different direction so never did see if I could have passed her.
Enjoyed my cup of coffee sitting outside in my Adirondack chair that DS made for me in HS. That's my favorite place to sit in the summer. It's particularly nice in the morning since it's usually cool and it's still quiet in the neighborhood. I put my feet up, had my coffee in one hand and my book in the other. It was nice to spend some quiet time.
The rest of the day as is typical of a Saturday has a long list. The inside needs attention as does the outside. I want to get my flower beds weeded and hopefully DH will head over to the garden center to get me a bag of mulch. Even though he put Preen down the weeds are thriving. I'm hoping a good weeding and then some mulch will help that problem. The front yard needs to be done too but the ground is so hard out there since we haven't had any rain and don't think I'll be able to get to both projects and get anything done inside.
Patty-Your post this morning sounds so much like me. I was sitting last night and realizing how disgusting I feel when I don't eat right and wondering why if I feel this way why do I continue doing this. I do reach for the fruits and veggies because I do enjoy them but when the sweet stuff is within easy reach it just draws me right in. I guess I have work on the problem of being a sweet tooth junkie.
Well better get started and moving this morning! Hope everyone has a super Saturday. Hope things go well at the GH Patty and don't see the evening news with your picture attached-VA woman buries coworker under the pansies!

Your smoothie actually sounds pretty healthy. In the book I'm reading, the author said people who drink the Slim Fast drinks (and eat healthy foods in moderation) tend to lose more weight! I was surprised to find that out. I think they're only bad if they become your only source of nutrition and your calories go so low you're body goes into starvation mode. Of course, when you start eating again, your body latches onto every calorie that comes near it.
Glad your day will be busy and go by fast, especially with the nice weather.

Short post from me this AM.

Patty, I reacted to the quote the same way you did before I read yours.
