Another beautiful day weather wise and if you like things a bit toasty then you'll enjoy LI's weather today. The high is supposed to be around 90. I'm sure the inside the office weather will have me huddling under my sweater!
Good thoughts this morning Patty and I do know that with working full time at work and home it's difficult so much of the time to try to seize those moments.
I spoke to my neighbor last night and he seems to think that I'm having muscle spasms since they are quick burst of pain. His first thought was that I don't drink enough water but when I told him how much I drink on a daily basis his next thought was that my electrolytes might be off. That worries me a bit since I know that can be a side effect of my bp medication. I just had blood work done a few weeks ago and there wasn't any indication that there was a problem. He told me to try adding in some Gatorade, putting some heat on the area and do calf stretches which I actually do pretty much on a daily basis. He said he would try some ultrasound on it if it didn't improve. I trust his opinion and I'm going to try all his suggestions and hope that it improves the situation. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about workouts. I had a few of these when I was walking Otto last night so I'm not sure any kind of cardio is a good idea at the moment. I never got any workout in this morning.
Very, very happy that it's Friday. We're having another office luncheon today. It was my boss' birthday on Monday and although we had lunch on that day the boss decided we should have another one today. Not sure why but lately I don't just get him so it's another day without being able to escape for an hour.
I do hope to have my extended service plan problem on DS old truck resolved today. They're swearing it's the underwriters fault and vice versa. Frankly I don't really care so long as I have a check in my hand today. They've assured me I will....we'll see.
Nothing much else of the agenda for today. At some point I have a skirt that I purchased from Penneys that still hasn't been returned. I keep forgetting that it's in the bag and needs to be returned. Maybe after dinner I'll take a ride over there.
Patty-enjoy your day with your sister and your niece!
Rhonda-Happy Birthday to Erin! Is today your Mom's birthday too? If it is Happy Birthday to Mom! If today isn't the day-early birthday greetings! It's hard to keep things straight in a brain that I think everyone keeps stealing a pieces of it.
Yeah it's Friday and I am off.....Yeah it's Friday and I am off....Yeah it's Friday and I am off.... Did I mention that I am off today? Seems to feel like it has been forever since I had a home day. I guess you tell I am pretty happy about this. Well got up bright and early since I needed to wake Rob for his senior breakfast today. He gets his year book and was out the door at 7:15am. I got a little emotional watching him pull out of the driveway. Seems Katie was quickly behind him in the shower line since she only went swimming last night and her hair was a mess. Bill took the third position and Billy fourth......sounds like the Belmont Stakes this weekend, lol. Inbetween showers I ran a batch of fine laundry that requires only cold water so I actually have done 2 full loads and the machines are a twirlin and swirling as I type. The kettle is on for another cup of tea that I think I will sit outside on my front porch and enjoy for a little quiet time. Peapod has me scheduled for an delivery between 11 and 1. I am going to finish my upstairs cleaning first since we are supposed to hit close to 90 today with a bit of heavy humidity. I too have some returns to make a blouse from Kohls and some clothes from Target. I could use a few more pairs of shorts yet I dislike spending money when I have a bin full of size 14's calling my name. It is a pay week so I will run by the office this afternoon to grab my paycheck then over to the bank to cash it. Katie has a riding lesson today at 4 and then she has volunteered to walk some horses around the ring for the Girl Scout program at the barn. I guess I can find something to do for an hour or two alone..............thinking here. I believe her best friend Megan is sleeping over tonight so that will keep her busy and I know I can fit a later afternoon / early evening walk in. So on this note I will go fix myself a scrambled egg with mushrooms, and have my quet tea. Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!
Good morning.. I'm feeling ok but not great... We are suppose to go camping.. I should say we are going camping... I think I am past going camping.. at least the way we camp... We have a pop up camper.
Deb .. I can relate to your sadness as you watch your son pull out of the driveway.. It seems like yesterday it was the first day of kindergarden and they were getting on the bus for the first time... My youngest son graduates next year... Didn't you say that Robb has his prom too this weekend? Or am I behind... :)
Deb your post about your possible camping trip just brought back a flood of memories, lol. Growing up we had an Apache pop-up, the kind with the solid sides, they like folded in I think anyway we went all over with that thing at least it felt like it. It was my parents with the three girls. We went upstate NY, we went to PA, we went out the the east end of Long Island even forgot my little sisters bag of clothes ontime. Lots of good memories but I guess we out grew it and the last trip I remember would have been when I was like 14 years old. Then as my boys grew I did the Boy Scout camping in tents.....lol. Notice I said I did it. My Bill is not a camper. As a family we did camp a few times, once we borrowed a friends older motor home. It was hysterical and we stayed in PA for a few days we had fun but the shower did not work and we had to use the "public" one. Then the last one was when I was preggo with Katie (14 years ago) and we used a dome tent for 4. Well there were 4 of us and I was pregnant. We camped on the hardest ground and up a hill from the bathroom. It poured rain two nights in a row and the tent leaked. The third night while cooking dinner the owner of the campground came up the hill to let us know a sever thunderstorm was on the way...........that was all Bill needed to hear. He threw the steak inthe woods, threw all the grear into the back of the truck, made us climb into the truck and we checked into a Holiday Inn and had dinner at a Cracker Barrell, the man never went camping again, lol.
Watching my Rob do all this graduation stuff is particulary emotional for me because my older son, Billy quit school the end of 11th grade. He never experienced any of this and I feel we all got cheated out of so much. He regents it now and has told me so more then once. I will say he is a success in his own though. He did work full time immediatly for his father and he works hard. The young man has excellent work habits and can run the shop as good as his father. Bill trusts him 100% and has left him alone to run the place for days. He went back and got his GED when he turned 18 and has built himself a wonderful credit. He owns a 2007 F350 truck, 2006 24ft trailer, 1989 mustang race car, 1987 Bronco and his everyday car is his 2002 Mustang GT. He pays all his own insurance, gas and his daily living expenses. He never askes me for a dime although he does not pay me rent but that is another topic of conversation, lol. Now back to Rob, his has done things very differently then Billy (until this year when he was attacked with a bit of seniorits). Rob plans on going to a local college for Mechanical Engineering for the first two years. He might decide to remain at the same school for the other two since it is a four year school now. He works for himself and has a custom detailing business that keeps him busy. He will do as many as 3 cars a weekend making anywhere from $150 to $200 a car. Now that summer is here he does a few during the week as well. His prom is June 21st.Speaking of which I better get him to the Tux place today or tomorrow, we are running out of time. The last day of school for him is this coming Tuesday, then he has a few finals.
